A hot tub spa is heavy and fragile. Expensive professional moving companies are available. However, I will show you how I moved it by myself, and also how I moved it with only one or two friends. No expensive or special equipment required! I will show you 3 different ways! Save some money and do it yourself!

As professional hot tub movers I can tell you that these methods are going to damage your tub. 1) The first part is that the tub is on grass. That means that you can easily get the pike underneath the tub - but that won't be the case if the tub is sitting on concrete. You will also hear cracking noises when doing this. Tubs are supposed to be lifted off the ground with a special tool - and they are supposed to be lift from the ground at the stronger anchoring points which are at the corners of the tub - and NOT in the centre sides on most models. 2) Using the PVC rolling pipes is something that many professional movers use and that is perfectly fine - we call that "Rolling Tracks method" 3) Under no circumstances roll your hot tub. You will scratch the sides, damage the panels, compromise the structural integrity of the spa and also potentially get water into the blower. All spas has some water left in them. Water mixed with electricals is not a good combination. Water can trace it's way back through the pipes when rolling it and find it's way back into the blower (which is basically a reverse vacumm cleaner). It can then short out the blower. 4) Older tubs have PVC that has become brittle - so when you move the tub by square rolling, all the heavy pumps are stressing on the pipe and can cause a leak in the tub somewhere. 5) Most tubs that are older have some wood rot in them. That means you need professionals to move them because it might even fall apart under it's own weight. You paid thousands for your tub - don't end up having to spend money reapiring your tub for cracks and also leaks - get a a good, insured professional mover. 6)Lastly - if you don't know what you are doing - someone is going to get hurt.

Well….your profession involves moving hot tubs… a mechanic doesn’t recommend people perform their own vehicle maintenance yet people are capable of doing it… some people prefer the challenge. Just look at the creativity involved in the move?! Literally used ancient rolling techniques like the Egyptians with the pyramids..It’s brilliant! Some men, (and women alike) crave challenge. People with the desire to improvise, create, gain knowledge and be self reliant are a dying breed. Top comment pin for shouldn’t be a company trying to tell people to hit the easy button, using scare tactics like “doing this will damage your tub. Sure you might mess something up, but the alternative is you simply learn nothing, even if that’s what not to do. Rather a simple, “well done, thanks for taking the time to CREATE this and spread the KNOWLEDGE.

This is just ridiculous bull shit. I spend my whole life figuring shit out and not knowing what I'm doing. But just because I don't know what I'm doing doesn't mean I'll get hurt. I'm safe, if not extra safe and cautious when I am clueless. Also, paying a mover can be expensive, if not more expensive than repairing minor damages that can occur. If you cause major damage or someone dies moving a hot tub....... ya I have no advice for Neanderthals.

keeping it easy, i moved my hot a 1/2 acre bymyself using two hand cart with rubber tires , put one on each side under neath and lift and laid the hand carts on the ground the handles on the ground take a strap wrapped it around the hot tub, pic up one side with hand cart half way and pull, if it to hard I hooked up my little tractor and pull it moves no problem, move it where ever u want in no time ! no lifting just moving a little tip from Joey mack from Philly , retired ironworker.

This is exactly how I moved my hot tub to the new house all by myself. I used four pieces of PVC though but three could have worked for my small hot tub. The trailer I was used was a dump trailer and the sides were also removable so I could lay it flat. It worked a treat!

my husband used 2 shoulder harness straps and 3 of our kids and moved it from the back yard of the house we bought it , through a fence in the side yard then loaded it onto a uhaul trailer that was wide enough for it to lay flat in. Then backed the uhaul right into our backyard and up to the concrete pad he had poured and slide it right into place. He dug a trench on sunday and buried the conduit and wired it yesterday. It is up and running. Already 95 degrees this morning.

Man, just saying from experience you made it more complicated than it had to be. Don't try to move hot tubs alone. I recommend at the very least 2-4 people. Look into equipment you can use or make to ease the actual moving of the tub. NEVER ROLL A HOT TUB ON ITS SIDE!!!! I have moved all kinds of tubs in plenty of different ways. Should you ever need to move a hot tub... Please don't do it alone. Let the professionals do it or do research. I admire your courage, determination and willpower and I'm glad you figured it out with no major issues but it's not a game and it's not something you really just try to do. It's very dangerous and expensive.

Saw one guy make a 🛷 sled.. to pull their hot tub. 🤗 Info.. 4x8 sheet of corosplast from home depot. About $25. We used to call it coroply. Its just plastic cardboard. I cut it down to fit between the gate, but you could just leave it 4' wide. For extra protection, I put a thick piece of cardboard between the coroplast and the tub. He moved it on its side.. but it was smaller and lighter. The pipes was a good trick. 👍

I tried the square wheel method. You could hear and see the wooden frame crack under pressure. The frame wouldn't support the weight while the tub was on the corner. The outside skirting also took a beating. Cracked and busted. Was on grass and cardboard. I would not recommend the square wheel method.

@HowtoandReviewsOfficial
@HowtoandReviewsOfficial 2 жыл бұрын
Moving it a couple inches should be no problem. If there is concern, I recommend removing the access panel on the of the hot tub to see where the wires actually connect to the motor. Then you will be able to see how much slack there is in the wires. But in general, a couple inches should be no problem.

Professional movers is the best option if the price is right. A professional hot tub move can cost anywhere between roughly $200 to $1000+ depending on how far it needs to be moved and where you live.
