Wow!! Thank you so much!! I've only had my vehicle for 3 years and NEVER knew you could actually lock doors by just clicking the button again. **Side Note: My second fob recently broke and the dealership told me would cost $380 for replacement ($195 for programming). I was able to locate a brand new fob online for $49 and a locksmith to program for $50-$60.

I have a MAZDA 6 2015. I noticed all lights on both doors aren’t working anymore. The lights where the windows & Locks are located. Do you suppose this is a fuse issue? 5:00 Both doors in the front are affected and don’t have any illumination. I only notice this during night driving.. I’d rather NOT TAKE IT THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE A SMALL ISSUE. Any idea? Thanks

You used the key to get in the door but then the fob to start it. What about when you use the key to start it, how do you get the key back out of the ignition? I have just been called by my father asking me this on his new 2016 Mazda and came on here to research for him. Your clip was the best so far but it still didn't answer my question. Once you put the key in the ignition, how do you get it out?

Unlike the manual door locks, there's no manual ignition switch. You just have to hold the fob up close to the start button as shown as opposed to keeping it in your pocket when starting the car.

Just a comment for people that are buying a Mazda for the first time. There are settings in the screen/computer menu for the key that he didn’t explain at all and made this video incomplete. For example, the doors can lock automatically when one walks away from the car with the key in your pocket or purse. Or unlock all the door with one press… if you have the car’s manual, you’d get a complete guide for your key.

How about telling us where you get a fob battery, And how often you should replace? As I am now stranded with car only being a year old.
@timothypatrick93357 жыл бұрын
That FOB should use a CR2025 battery, which is pretty common and should be available anywhere with a decent selection of batteries (Target, Walmart, etc.). When you remove the auxiliary key there is a slot on either side of the key dock that you pry with a flat edge or coin to pop the remote open. After that it should be pretty obvious how you replace the battery. And you shouldn't be stranded, because you can still start the car by holding the remote next to the start button. Unless you have a different model that might require you to use the key to start the car (in which case, consult your user manual). Mazda has at least 3 different keyless systems, but there is always a way to start the car with a dead remote. My MX-5 has a knob on the steering column that you pull out and there is a normal ignition key lock behind it (there are buttons on either side of the knob to release it). Other models have a key slot behind a cover that you put the key into before pushing the start button.

Put your foot on the brake it the key battery is low? - that's weird, you'd think it'd be the clutch it'd make you push in, if any pedal (I didn't see any flappy paddles, so this doesn't look like an automatic...). I'd a Skoda Octavia as a rental recently which had keyless entry and that forced you to push in the clutch while pressing the engine start button before it'd start, while pushing in the clutch while starting is seemingly a requirement in several "normal" cars, such as old Saabs (which forced you to leave them in reverse to take the key out of the ignition) and some new Citroens. Meanwhile, don't get me started on these damn new electronic handbrakes as the Octavia had! 🤔😯😂

@james425196 жыл бұрын
this is alright but you are wrong about the way it works if battery is dead. the car actually sends out power to the key fob to detect it and make it work. it is kinda like wireless charging just to give power to work to detect it
