I first had kolaches after moving to Texas. They were SO dang good…. Nothing else like them. SO happy you shared this. We moved away from Texas years ago but these remain as one of my favorite food memories. I am from Louisiana so you KNOW I have lots of delicious “food memories”. I cannot wait to make these. Love y’all so much! 💕GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT…..a supplemental video making the fruit fillings…. The cherry sounds delish and plum was super traditional.

Hi Kathleen! Aren't good food memories about the best kind of memories there are? Always takes you back to such good times. We hope you try these kolaches and have wonderful success with them. And we have lots of amazing food memories firmly planted in Louisiana!!! Stay in touch! All the best, Kris & Wesley

I have NEVER smiled so much watching a cooking video! Thank you for sharing your Grandmother’s recipe! I loved to cook and try new recipes at my young age of 65. My neighbor doesn’t have the desire that I have but often tells me about her mother’s Kolaches and how much she misses them. I’m so excited to try out your recipe and bring her this special treat. I have the luxury of an Amish store nearby and plan to use some of their fillings…. Black Raspberry is one of our favorite!!! Can you answer a question for me? Why do you use unsalted butter but then add salt? I never buy unsalted butter and wondered if it made a significant difference in the flavor. Thanks from Tennessee and keep me smiling…you made my day❤️!!

Hi there! You just made our day!!! 65 years young and cooking better than ever!! We use unsalted butter because we can control the amount of salt in our recipes. But, it's really not a big deal! Salted butter doesn't contain that much sodium. Hope you are having a wonderful day!!! Much love from Texas to you in Tennessee!!!!

My grandma was from Czechoslovakia her kolaches never look like that. They were not raised. Probably because she didn't put yeast in hers.
@HowToFeedaLoonКүн бұрын
So interesting! No yeast would certainly be the reason! No doubt, they were delicious, though! Those Czech Grandma's know how to cook and bake!!!
