“The metronome doesn’t build speed, it tests speed.” “The public school system doesn’t educate you, they test you.” Yep, seems about right.

I was ready to argue about the metronome tip. And then I actually listened to what he said and it’s correct. I use the metronome when I’m practicing, but when I’m sitting playing to play, I don’t use one You need to be able to do as he says Focus on the proper technique and then add the metronome.

With the help of Mike and Tom Hess I've understood the general ideas of correct practice a bit. But it's really hard to explain this to my bandmates. When I say let's play slower and pay attention and focus they say they can't play slower cuz it's harder for them, but they still make mistakes even when when they play as fast as they want.(((

I think the best way is each other play slow alone, in own home, improving the skills. Make your computer, cell phone, whatever music player, be your "band" when being studying. Then, when be in rehearsal just play the song the best you can do. Play guitar slowly is a study and it's made better when you're alone. Ok, the band can play slow and it may be a good way for everyone in it study too, but it's important to rememeber that each person has it's own evolution time and way. And, of course, it's good your bandmates play the songs in the right time, at least.

Mike is the best guitar teacher on KZbin - maybe in the world. For people who can’t figure out the nuisances of technique on their own. Teachers like, well I guess I won’t name names… who have these cute flashy videos that kinda help but not really in the long run.. wish they could teach as well as Mike.

Was wondering, why would a man with little hands play a 25.5" SL?

Real men don't obsess over hand size or scale length.
