I have a four and a half month old chocolate lab called Prairie and she is an absolute dream! So laid back and loving and although she is not food motivated she has been easy to train, so far, using your tips and training methods. Thanks Michelle! ❤

I wish you had talked about the diffrences between the american and english labs, my wife and I have raised both and found that once past the teething and puppy stage that the enlish labs are much more layed back than the american. that being said we loved all out labs american and english. We enjoy jour channel very much.

I have a borador (a Lab/border collie cross) - I've seen a lot lately about the collie traits so this was really interesting to hear more about the lab side. I think he leans more towards the collie at the moment, although he's only 24 weeks old so who knows what will happen in the future. Love watching your videos - thank you.

So, my adoption plans are delayed until next year. I’m torn cuz I generally rescue but yearn for purebred bennies. Lab is my first choice, if so. Loved this video, but then again I love all of them. I’m also interested in Boxers & (English) Springer Spaniels. Would love to see those videoed a la Michelle!

I have had two Labs, one we raised from a pup and one we rescued when he was approximately 2 yrs old. Both have passed, but adored both of them and both had totally different behaviors. After watching training videos ( both yours and others) I realized I didn’t really do a good job trying either of them. I believe the only reason they listened to me or my wife is the mutual love and affection that we all had for each other. We are now waiting for a lab puppy to be old enough to pick up from a breeder and I don’t want to make the same mistakes I made with the other two. I am looking into purchasing your Pro Training system.

We just got a lab pup, he’s 9 weeks and we are seeing how much Turbo has changed in the week we’ve had him, more active in just a week and his coat is getting thicker too. We just joined the DIY program and trying to absorb as much as we can.

Loved your German Shepherd video.This one was spot on as well. I have a white German Shepherd named Sherlock and a 6 month old chocolate lab named Dr Watson. He is a chewer much more so than Sherlock. He is sweet and adorable. My biggest issue with him is he takes things off the counter but he does bring them to me.

Thanks for watching! Chewing is a natural behavior that allows dogs to relieve stress. However, as you know, this behavior can become destructive if not channeled properly! Puppy chewing happens for many reasons! They are exploring a brand new world, except without thumbs to help them like you and me. Also, just like human babies, their mouths are typically sore from teething between the ages of 3 and 6 months. Always make sure to redirect your puppy to an appropriate item, praise them when they pick the right thing on their own, and block off access to things they should not chew. Remember, to a puppy everything is a chew toy! They don’t know the difference between the table leg and the Nylabone until you teach them! Lacie the lab is 10 weeks and I honestly don’t remember it being this hard to deal with my lab mix 30 years ago. Although I was 33 not 63. She is wearing me out. I am wondering if I am really up to the challenge!! (Tired lab mom)

Yes, these puppies can be a lot - especially when our last puppy was years ago! It sounds like you may be experiencing what we call the "puppy blues." The puppy blues are a common feeling when first bringing home a new puppy. After all, you are now responsible for this creature who doesn’t speak your language! It can be frustrating for the humans AND the puppy! We have a great video that can give you a lot more information about how to work through these natural feelings and how to build up a great relationship with your dog. And for even more support, consider enrolling in the pro level of our online course where we can guide you with much more personalized attention! Puppy Blues kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5fVlYp7m6l7d8k

We have a 13 month old labrador called Brodie. He is our first ever dog, and what a fantastic boy he is. What an angel, he has never been disruptive, never destroyed anything, isn't mouthy, has impulse control, very well mannered, highly trainable and such a lovebug. We got rid of his crate at 5 months old as he was such a good boy, we even house trained him in his first 3 days home with us. I'd love to get another puppy but we are so scared that because Brodie has been such a dream that we could never be so lucky again.

I have a large 10 month lab, Gabe, who is full of energy. He chews most things, wood, toys, etc. Working with him to keep him busy on appropriate things and looking for help with greeting people without going crazy. I use a leash but he's so excited for ten minutes or so when they come into the house.

Labs are not all the same. American Field Labs are high drive dogs and require lots of exercise and space. The English Show Labs are much more low key. I have owned both, and currently own a half and half, and a full English Lab. Field Labs should come with a warning sticker. Lol! Awesome dogs, but high drive!
@HowToTrainADreamDog2 жыл бұрын
You're right! Even puppies from the same litter can end up having completely different temperaments and drives from one another!
