Hoya Australis Lisa care for a fast growing wax plant, with pink leaves

The hoya Australis Lisa is a very cool plant with variegated leaves that look almost like stained glass.
It is also for sure one of the fastest growing hoya I have in my care.
Anothsr very cool thing about this plant is the fact that the new leaves come out red and then fade to a pink colour and then to a peach colour

I love your lawyer (sorry hoya) .. it's just fabulous. Mine is still a baby, but growing quickly, and the variegation is just beautiful. I too am growing most of my hoyas in pon and yes they do seem to love it. I have a hoya pubicalyx splash in pure pumice which was supposed to be just a temporary measure until my next order of pon but as there was a couple of months delay in receiving the pon it stayed in there for longer. However when I received my order I noticed that the pubicalyx had 10 new leaves and a 2 foot long vine, plus the leaves are super healthy, so that is where it is staying. When i check the leaf softness for determining the watering it is 3 to 4 weeks between each watering which is a bonus. It gets flushed every 4th watering. Plants never cease to amaze me.

Lisa’s are gorgeous 😊 I’ve had mine for just under a year and last month she started blooming. I have everything in Lechuza Pon and terracotta as they seem to like it. Yours is a beast 😍 about 5 times bigger than mine.

They are stunning definately, so much more striking in person, the patterns on the leaves are beautiful. Yes I agree terracotta and pon is something they love for sure. Trust me give it time and yours will be this large soon too. Yayyyy congrats 🎉🎉🎉 on the first blooms👏👏👏👏

I have yet to find a Hoya Lisa. Hoyas are hard to find where I live near Michigan. Might I suggest you find a thick heavy clay pot for your giant plant. I once had a cactus that grow straight and tall. At 14 inches it was clear that the plant kept falling over because it had become so top heavy. I found a heavy duty pot and put the cactus into it. It has never fallen over again and it's very happy in the ten pound pot. You should do the same with your Lisa.

Ooooh I'm jealous! I've got a couple of other variegated ones (as well as others -green, speckled/splashed, etc), and waiting on a "Lisa", the others are s-l-o-w, every year I get more than 2 leaves on one plant, I throw a party. 😏 Yours is nothing short of magnificent! Thanks for all the info, I've tried leca a few times with abysmal results, so gave up. I've got the rest in pon, with great success, with your lighting tips, I'm hoping mine will grow more, thanks for sharing!! I stan Memo, always. ^^

Ohhh which ones are your favourites at the moment, always curious to see what people are favouring 😊😊😊 I truly think they is a joy for everyone, as there are so many of them. Yeah i get it on the Leca I tried too and failed miserably so gave up. I did have great success with lechuza pon for sure, all my hoyas in that now grow super fast (for hoyas) awwwwwww thank you so so much 💚 🌿 🙏 that made my day

@@Houseplantygoodness It's a toss up between my var. Wayetii & splash publicalyx. I saved both from certain death (duh-duh-dum) - root rot, coaxing them (begging them, really) back into little clumps so far. I'm definitely going to follow your advice, I'm hoping they'll grow at least twice their size by the end of next growing season (fingers & toes croased), I'm not asking much! ^^

Hi Thanks for this video . I have been trying to grow my lisa scince jan 2020 but it is not growing that much. Now ot is in Lechuza pon for almost one year under sunblaster grow ligh t4 6 k wat and it is growing but slow. I still have hope on it. But yours is stunning. Hope you still have it as the video posted one year ago ☺️

Your videos are great. Have a very large publicalyx in my bathroom south facing window. I’m sensitive to the blooms makes me sneeze and have had at least 20 this year. Still love them and have a good collection going. My favorite plant. Wish I had somewhere else to put the large one

Some people cover the blooms (usually the really drippy hoyas) to keep the mess away from surfaces, it might help with allergies too

About how long did your Australis Lisa take to reach that humongous size. I just ordered Australis Lisa and when it arrived it’s just a seedling , small plant in a pot. Thanks! Do you use any special fertilizer to grow it that fast? It is really a beautiful gorgeous plant! I have mine, now in an orchid pot, hoping for more aeration of soil. It was sold to me in a plastic pot..don't think soil was so good..put in succulent soil now...what size did you start with? Are clay pots superior to orchid pot for Hoyas? Would love to see more videos on your Hoyas and use of pon...

Usually it might be that the soil is staying too wet, so check the roots, if the soil stays too wet for too long, use a very light airy soil mix, pop it into terracotta and give it loads of direct light 😊

Ohh those are beautiful, I have a nice large polyneura, but I struggled with Bella I had one years ago and could not keep it happy. Careful when you get your first hoya, you will likely want to get more 😊

yep as long as it is close to the grow light and it is a strong grow light you should be good :)

I have south facing windows but also grow lights so I have more room for plants that won’t get the sun ..try 5T strip lighting easy install !

I don't know what I did. I haven't had problems with any plants before but I won one of these in a giveaway and it is not doing okay! I don't know what I did or maybe should be doing? It had around 5 leaves and it lost all but 3, and 2 are wilted :(
