This is really good. The dof looks amazing and the object are really sharp in focus.

Very cool thank you for posting this! I have been looking for diopters to go with the Sirui 50mm anamorphic lens - kudos!

Great breakdown! Dumb question! When you use closeup diopters like this, is the focus fixed at the minimum distance only or can you still shift the focus further away from the minimal focusing distance?
@TheMinistryFilmworksEST20182 жыл бұрын
Not a dumb question at all. No. It is not fixed. You can shift focus, but it is limited by just a few feet away from minimum focus.

@@TheMinistryFilmworksEST2018 Thank you mate. Appreciate it. I will get these diopters as well.

@@TheMinistryFilmworksEST2018 I am trying to find an example of a footage in which diopter is added and we can check the focus shift from minimum to maximum? on this sirui lens

legitimately very usable optics for a low cost. I stopped looking for achromatic diopters because any singlet diopter was okay enough. Achromatics cost so much more, if you can even find any!

Thank you! i bought the Vivitar ones to test because they were so cheap. I do wish there was a 0.5 one that is easy to get.

do like the quality of the Vivitar? I was shocked at how cheap they were when I checked

Thank you for this test! Does the glass protrude beyond the ring on any of the strengths? Curious about stacking on top of the diopter instead of below.
@TheMinistryFilmworksEST20182 жыл бұрын
They do slightly. I would probably make this the last filter I screw on.

@@TheMinistryFilmworksEST2018 Appreciate the heads up! Was hoping I might be able to get away with going diopter first then the Freewell magnetic VND after since I cant go the other way around.

whats the link to the diopter

Love it. There's a real nice softness to your footage (in a good way). So much of the Sirui stuff feels way too sharp. Do you think the softness comes from the sigma or the BPM?
@TheMinistryFilmworksEST20182 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes. I think it's a combination of the Sigma and the BPM filter. I also always shoot wide open which softens the image a little as well. But there is something special about the Sigma sensor. It has a natural warmth to it. Not bad for a $1600 camera.
