Nice review. I appreciate you picking one or the other as your favorite and expressing your opinion. So many reviewers don’t want to take the heat of stating an opinion. But we should all recognize it’s just your opinion. Nothing to get butt hurt over. Not too many really bad bows out there these days, after all. Thank-you, bow manufacturers!
@HaxenHunt Жыл бұрын
Couldn’t agree more!! Thank you for your support!! In all honesty you could pick up any bow in the last 10 years and shoot it no problem ! Bows are all good now days! It’s down to being extremely nit picky when you “choose” a bow
@NMBowhntr Жыл бұрын
Just to confirm, you have pre checked and adjusted the draw weights, right? Because it’s very common for bows to come from the manufacturer on the hot side. Wanted to confirm this is a head to head comparison, and one isn’t drawing heavier than the other. Thanks again!
@jimrice46999 ай бұрын
@@NMBowhntr draw length too. Matthews is apparently shipping the Lift 33 with an exaggerated draw length. One inch draw is usually worth about 10 fps. so when they produce a bow advertised as 30.0" but it is actually 30.25" they are adding about 2.5 fps to the arrow speed that is seen in tests and probably also in their literature. Sure, 2.5 fps isn't much but when you are selling tens / hundreds of thousands of these bows and competing against the likely suspects the manufacturer wants a "favorable" comparison for folks that can't or wont' dig deep enough to understand the differences.

I’m a bit confused. You say the Lift 29.5 settles well and feels very stable at full draw but in your previous video you said the Lift 33 did not settle and felt stable at full draw? I shot both and both are great bows but the 33 is definitely more stable and settles better than the 29.5 due to the longer riser. Both great bows
@AA-mk4pu Жыл бұрын
He just makes up non-sense honestly. What he said is it settles when you don’t shoot the Hoyt as well. So apparently, the presence of the Hoyt makes the Mathew’s nervous and then doesn’t settle

Haha no what happened was I filmed this video prior to filming the one against the Hoyt, I felt that the Mathews settled very well and then when I put it against the Hoyt you realize it doesn’t settle as well as the Hoyt. So a better what of saying it would be “the Mathews settles well, but the Hoyt settles better”

@HaxenHunt Жыл бұрын
Yeah that is the difference of IBO and ATA speeds. Hoyt uses ATA speeds and Mathews uses IBO. Dont get me wrong the Lift is an incredible bow! I honestly have nothing bad to say about it! But so is the RX8 and so it really comes down to preference and what you look for in a bow!
@jimrice46999 ай бұрын
@@HaxenHunt Also, as I've said in other comments, it has been shown in other reviews that at least with the Lift 33, Matthews produced a bow with a longer draw length than advertised. Meaning the actual DL on the "30.0"" draw bow is 30.25". That extra draw length should pick up about an additional 2.5 fps. That can't be an accident. Matthews engineers know EXACTLY what they engineered and delivered.

@@HaxenHunt the hat is the entry to the “giveaway”. A “giveaway” is giving something away for free if we’re using the same terminology. Im not hating at all, get that money back for the bow. Just label it what it is that’s all.

@@jxhkb if you spend $25 on a hat you get a hat. If you bought my hat you get a hat. And the possibility of a free bow. It’s “technically” a giveaway and legally a giveaway. -Auction is highest price wins -Lottery is pay for “Chance to win” - you get nothing in return unless you win -raffle is same thing as the lottery, buy a ticket and possibly win you get nothing in return. -giveaway = item for free, no purchase needed -giveaway = buy a hat and win a bow There’s a million other companies that do it and legally it’s considered a Giveaway due to those reasons. I’m not arguing it, I’m educating it after working with attorneys to make sure everything is legit.

@@HaxenHunt I’m not knocking you. It’s a 25 dollar entry to win a bow with a hat purchase caveat…aka a raffle. If it was a giveaway, you’d simply ask for a free subscription, or like; to be entered to receive a free bow. Not a 25 dollar bow which is still a sweet deal don’t get me wrong.

So I went to shoot Mathews at 2 different bow shops and each time they had the Mathews draw weight at 65 pounds. I made them turn it up to 70 to compare a bow tec and Hoyt and I can see why these dealers did that to Mathews because man it’s a hard cycle to draw. Both Hoyt and bowtec had a way better draw and think Hoyt had a slight better draw cycle plus you get the speed. And Mathews definitely had more jump in the hand after the shot. What Mathews got going for them is the bow looks sexy!lol Hoyts line up is way better trust me! If your wanting a lighter bow then the pse is better than Mathews this year.
