Did anyone notice how he kicked up his accent? He's Irish, but his accent doesn't always come through when he sings. In fact, if anything it's usually pretty bluesy, as befits much of his music. But here there were definitely parts where he emphasizes and leans into it to capture a kind of folk storytelling quality. Gorgeous.

Yes! That’s exactly what he does! If you listen to his song “shrike” and “swan apon Leda” he kicks in the accent. But for songs like “movement” and “Jackie and Wilson” he has more of a bluesy rock sound. Truly a great performer.

Did anyone think Hozier looked very sad in that performance? Idk, just seeing him all serious go up on the stage in a coat, sing and then leave immediately without giving a speech or something was really unexpected. Maybe he was trying to match the tone of the song, but I found it so striking compared to the warm energy he radiates in all his other performances even singing the most heartbreaking songs.
