Did anyone notice how he kicked up his accent? He's Irish, but his accent doesn't always come through when he sings. In fact, if anything it's usually pretty bluesy, as befits much of his music. But here there were definitely parts where he emphasizes and leans into it to capture a kind of folk storytelling quality. Gorgeous.

@kwizzless2046

Yes! That’s exactly what he does! If you listen to his song “shrike” and “swan apon Leda” he kicks in the accent. But for songs like “movement” and “Jackie and Wilson” he has more of a bluesy rock sound. Truly a great performer.
@MaskTheDwarf
@MaskTheDwarf 2 жыл бұрын
I've even noticed it with myself, my accent isn't Southern, but it still gets masked when I sing. I guess that's just sort of a thing that happens with irish people XD

I had never gotten a chance to play with a Playstation my whole life. A year ago I got sick and was bedridden for a week, confined to my room. During that time I used to cheer myself up by watching God of War: Ragnarok walkthroughs. Back then I didn't know I could ever get my hands on a PS5. But this last week I rented out one and I finally played the game and finished it. It was a phenomenal experience. I haven't played the other versions but I knew the story. Did anyone think Hozier looked very sad in that performance? Idk, just seeing him all serious go up on the stage in a coat, sing and then leave immediately without giving a speech or something was really unexpected. Maybe he was trying to match the tone of the song, but I found it so striking compared to the warm energy he radiates in all his other performances even singing the most heartbreaking songs. Made me wonder if he was having a bad day or something happened, maybe he wasn’t given the opportunity to speak before/after his performance
