This sounds like it's about cheating(?) But like cheating in the sense that he feels devoted to another( The night) but finds himself attracted, whether physically or emotionally, to a new person( The sunlight) the Icarus analogy would be that he would jeopardize a stable and healthy relationship for, in further inspection, physical attraction. I literally didn't get this meaning for the song until I was explaining it to a friend before finding this vid. At first I assumed it was about someone who felt very comfortable in his way of life but decided to risk his own comfort in order to chase this new lover, who he had so completely fallen for.
