First of all I want to compliment you on your channel :-) it's relaxing to watch it after dealing with Covid patients all day. Second because I like this Channel so much I am compelled to improve it, it's just an instinct that I have so I want to give you some constructive criticism that I hope you don't mind. I have been to Toastmasters speech class and in that class anytime someone said aaaaaaa to fill the pause time until they could think of something else to say, all the audience members would click at the speech maker with clickers, I counted 48 aaaaaaa's in your speech so you would have been clicked 48 times, I am sorry to say your grade would have been quite low. We had to learn to just be silent and pace our speech so it did not seem rushed as if we had to go somewhere soon like the bathroom. Silence is golden and very informative, it also gives the listener a chance to take a break and absorb what you've just said, as it takes six times more energy to listen to Somebody than it does to talk, so when you need to pause just do it silently, don't fill it in with any word like aaaaaaa because it distracts the listener and drains their energy. Also when you were showing us how the keys sounded when you typed on them you were still talking, so we could not hear the key sounds. You can not go to Toastmasters because of Covid so I thought you might be receptive to advice from someone who has been clicked at thousands of times :-) I have bought many Chromebooks and after watching your review on it I bought the top of the line Pixelbook Go and I gave my ASUS C302 away. Keep up the good work even if you do not take my advise :-)

They retail for $199 but are selling for around $129 on sale. The are older model headphones but still really nice. All that for $400. It was delivered today. Been using for for a couple hours. I'd say everything is a 9/10 on it. The display is 7/10. Would of been nice if it got brighter for bright light situations. But for $400 bucks I'm not going to complain.

Just picked it up at BestBuy today. Took forever to arrive. First impressions? I love the look and feel of it. At first the speaker on top was a killing point for me and almost caused me to not buy it, but now having it in front of me? I still don't like it, but hopefully it will grow on me. I would like to move the speakers somewhere else so that there is more keyboard space. The letter size on the keyboard also look larger than normal, making it easier to type. The whole laptop weather open or close appears smaller compared to it's older model even though it's the same size screen (diagonally at least). One bad thing about this laptop however, is the magnet feature that helps keep the laptop in place when in tablet mode. This magnet makes it really difficult to open the laptop, not just with one hand but two as well. I can already tell that it's going to get really annoying over time.

I owned the previous Hp Chromebook x360 14 that had the i3-8th gen with a White lid and dark-blue keyboard for a while,it had amazing batterylife and a solid feeling keyboard. I did not like the HUGE bottom bezels and the screen could have been brighter,but I often found that the way I typed made me accidentally click the touchpad very often making my online school assignments take longer due to the typos,but thats just me and my weird typing position. I see a lot of similarities with this model so it seems like an awesome deal for most Chromebook users. It's $399 on BestBuy Student members and $499 for regular BestBuy members so not a bad deal at all. I'm currently on the Lenovo Duet tablet and happy with it for now so I'll be skipping this newer Hp x360 14. edit:Judging off of this video,the screen bezels look SO MUCH BETTER than the older model I owned.Tablet mode should be much better than the older HP x360 14

Hey, Robby! I somehow ran across your channel, and have to say that thanks to you I bought a Chromebook for the first time. I've had it for 4 days now and loving it so far. I have an issue, though. It has a combo earphones+mic plug and the earphones work well, however, it doesnt get any signal from the microphone. Chromebook does detect both earphones and mic, and I have selected the correct input for the mic (external plug) but it just wont work. Is there someething Im missing? The chromebook is secondhand. HP for the win! I've owned 3 Acer Chromebooks (r13, spin 13, and Chromebook 15; ) the r13 had so many problems Acer gave me a free exchange for the spin 13. That Spin 13 has been in the shop (extended warranty) literally 7 times. the 15" was a gift to my Mom. She barely used it and the hinge still broke. I ended up buying this hp as a spare, while the spin 13 is in the shop. Acer's are problem children. discolored pixels, broken hinges, and separating frames are their usual problems. When they work they're beautiful, especially the 3:2 aspect ratio screen. the 13" screen is bigger than hp's 14" screen. Hi Mike, I am facing the same dilemma right now. This HP has great design and finish and doubles the ram while the Lenovo is better with the Bluetooth and wifi6, along with bigger and faster storage. Really a hard choice to make. Hope Robby can give a comparison very soon. Also, the HP has student discount (-$100), so consider this.

I was in the same situation. Just bought the Flex 5 about a week ago (replacing my Pixel Slate), and decided to pull the trigger on returning it to grab this one with the Best Buy deal going on right now. The Flex 5 seems good, but the trackpad has had some weirdness, and a time or two it's kind of had performance hiccups due to the 4gb of RAM. My thought is that, on paper, the x360 14c should fix those problems, at a lower price. My only slight concern is the screen at only 250 nits (though the Flex 5 is only 300, and isn't exactly wonderful either, especially coming from the Pixel Slate).

Display is a little dim in bright light but not a setting i'm in often. The thing I don't like is the colors on the display. All reds look orange. Wondering if that is just mine, bad luck, or if its common with this model.

Stopped by best buy to check out the display model. Its has dull colors as well. And the reds are orange/brown in that too. I don't mind the colors being off a little but its annoying that red will never show up on the screen for the next 4-5 years I have this. Might be returning. Also the prior model has the same issue, checked that display at bestbuy as well. If I were to guess they used the same panel in the display.

It is a very nice machine, but one problem with it, you canot connect a portable cd/dvd player. I have a Memorex 5 years old that work on all machine that I try it on ( except HP x360). Therefore I ordered a new KingBox (windows, Linux an MAC COMPATIBLE. again the HP x360 will not detect the drive). I also sent a requested info from HP how to get this chromenook to allow to connect a cd drive to it. No reply from the hp service center so far. So should you consider buying this chromebook be aware that you can get a cd / dvd to run (I installed Linux and it still did not detect).

BestBuy messed up and didn't make a new SKU. Try using the filter on the reviews for "most recent"

I ordered this chromebook and the trackpad from mine was not completely fixed. In the bottom half there is a little clicking and movement without realy clicking the "left or right mousebutton". I ordered a new one today with exactly the same problem...am I the only one..?

at least it has a black keyboard because HP laptops that have silver keyboards and silver keys even with backlight are horrible. White lettering on black keys is the only way! White on grey is useful also.
