Hi there are 3 sata ports so you can disconnect and remove the optical drive and replace with another hard drive. You'd need to create a cover to stop dust getting in once the optical drive has been removed.

I’m was looking at raspberry pi and they are so expensive now. It’s cheaper for me to buy a full PC. Thank you for replying to my comment. It’s very much appreciated.

@@MohamedFareedh You might be able to get a plastic cover from ebay. Search for HP Elite 8300 SFF cover. In the uk there is one at £4.89. It will cover the hole left by removing the optical drive. The HP Elite series is perfect for nas solution. Ensure it has 3 sata ports and maybe i3 or i5 processor. Their power supplies are good as they are built to work in offices for long hours so reliable. Also these machines are cheap!

Yes but it must be low profile and not require an external power connector.

Thanks for the info. At the time, I only had i5 and 8gb ram so would go for your suggestion now. 32gb might be a little overkill for gaming though at present.

Hi looking at the card spec, it does not require an external power connector so that will be ok. Also ensure it's low profile and you should be fine.

I pop full size graphics card in and cut a slot in the lid, being a pro metalworker I have an angle grinder but you can use a 5 dollar minihacksaw and file /sand rough edges then rattlecan primer and paint to taste. This pc has no real danger of overheating, design is clever.

Only low profile cards will fit and also if they do not require an external power connector.

@@computerrefurbishment9748 From my understanding it is a low profile card and it does not require external power so I'm really thinking about upgrading one of these. RX 6400 low profile seems like a really good card for old office PC's 😁

@@zac3996 Should be ok but be aware the cpu may bottleneck it. Might just be as well to get low profile 1050ti for half the price of 6400 but your choice. I'd also upgrade the cpu to i7 in addition to get the most out of card upgrade.

As this is sff, only a full size psu can be fitted to the 8300 tower (with motherboard adaptors). For the sff, search for power supply specification.

Hi only socket 1155 is supported, therefore a higher gen i7 would not work.

Hi no that card would not fit, power supply is too low wattage and it's without a pcie power connector. You are therefore limited to 1050ti or 1650 low profile as the highest rated cards. Choose one that does not require an external power connector.

Hi yes. You might need the low profile version if case is not a tower. Most do not require an external power connector but best to check if one is not available on your power supply.

r5 340x as in this build. You are also restricted to low profile cards. I am not aware of anything else in that price range. 1050ti would be above that price I think although you can try and search for one on ebay.
