Bought this in September 2020 and still using it to this day, it's my main and only machine. Been using it in it's standard configuration (Canada) with 8GB DDR4 3200 RAM and 1TB SSD. Literally just ordered 2x8GB DDR4 CL20 Kingston Fury Impact from Amazon and cannot wait to install it to see how much better it gets. As it stands, I play Sniper Elite 4 and 5, and they are both currently playable. Can I expect a noticeable difference with the 16GB, we will see. Thanks for the great review on an excellent laptop.

What i really like is that even though you did livestream you dont just say "check it out there since thats where you can find the speaker quality" and move on, you actually account that some people like me might've missed the livestream and you included that footage in this review. I bought this laptop from Amazon, 1TB SSD and 32GB RAM for 1049 dollars. The thing crushes games like anything. I think this is the best laptop of the year, considering the premium nature, ultra gaming performance, beauty, upgradable Ram and SSD, really nice display, very responsive finger print reader. All those specs will cost you close to 2500 on Microsoft surface or Apple. I had the Hp envy x360 with AMD 2500u. This one has a much more reduced form factor, making it very compact and portable. Anyone buying this laptop will surely not regret a penny. I'm not only wowed, but enjoy every dollar spent on it. This video does an excellent job in reviewing it.

Got mine in yesterday. I'm very happy with it so far. 15", 4700u, 16 GB RAM, WiFi 5, 250 nits screen. The screen is fine for me. We watched some Netflix to test it. As long as a glare isn't hitting the screen at the wrong angle, I don't see anything wrong with it. I ran some Cinebench R20 tests. My results were around 2250 for "cooling" mode, 2650 for recommended mode and over 2950 for performance mode. My CPU never got over 50 C, but I'm not a power user.

Great review Andrew... Always clear, concise, great content with specs and a look inside. I have the 2019 AMD 3500U version, and hate the stick-on feet... One tip is since there are are only two screws for the bottom one on the edges, you only have to peel the feet back far enough to expose the screws - No need to remove it. I glued some regular small feet on my laptop, leaving the screws exposed for ease of servicing in the future.

One interesting thing I want to point out. In HP website, not all the models are available with the 400 nits display upgrade option. Currently only the model starting at $659.99 (4500u, 8gb ddr4, 256gb SSD) offers the 400 nits option. Rest of the models, while offering other upgrade options like CPU, ram and ssd, only has 250 nits display option. Recently OwnOrDisown did a review of that 250 nits model and the internal cooling layout is different. In that model. The two fans are at two different corners of the rear whereas this model has two fans one after another.

Mentioning game performance of any game above 60fps is strictly dependent on the screen refresh rate for good gaming experience - even a simple browsing session gets much better above 60fps. @danconatser86994 жыл бұрын
they do have 400nits on all models. just ordered from HP website and they allow you to pick exactly all the exact options you want.

Such a professional review! Loved it. The only downside now is, Ryzen 7 is not available on HP website, only Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5🥺

Thanks Andrew for the review. I tried to watch the stream but it is a bit long for me. This video was a good spectre vs envy video. After the soldier issue with the dell latitude, I am looking at the envy.

Are the ports gen 1? I need a hub/docking station that'll work to add 2 monitors to this laptop! Right now im using type c to hdmi, and hdmi to hdmi and I extended the displays and can have my laptop doing web designs, Microsoft teams on one and Netflix 9n the other lol!! Which hub/docking station will work with this for multiple diplays !? I nees more ports, ethernet..etc

What about a long term review? How are the hinges? Do they spoil overtime..
@sebasromero25053 жыл бұрын
The only thinking that really disappoint me was that I bought the 250 nids version. It was the first time I buy a laptop and I didn’t know that they sell screen that you can not see anything. So buy the 400 nids version.

Hi Andrew. Thanks for a great review. Looking to get this to use for video editing. Hope it will be ok for that. A lot of money to me so need to pick cautiously.

So I'm not sure but with the 15 inch version you can upgrade the RAM but not with the 13 inch one, right? Great and in depth review. One of the best I have seen.

How does it feel like the hinges will hold up long term? I know older ones had an issue with this, and this is the only thing that worries me.

Great video, thank you! Wanted the 15 inch model but found a good deal on the 13 inch one so think I'm gonna pick that up tomorrow. Ryzen 7 too! Best review I've seen by far 👍

I seriously want to buy the exact laptop as specified at 1:25 but I have spent hours scouring the internet and the closest one I can find has everything except it only has a 250 nits display and only a 256 GB SSD. Please tell me what the HP model number is for this one with the Ryzen 7, 400 nits and 512 SSD so I can buy it.

I'm still blown away with my 1035G4 CPU from last year... these new CPUs are all amazing. I'm just afraid I'm going to have laptops all over my house in a few years.
