I literally ordered the A15 on Amazon... waited over a week and it never shipped. Asked for a refund and went to Best Buy over an hour away (closest store with the model I wanted in stock) and picked up the Omen 15 (Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, GTX 1660 Ti 6GB). Absolutely love this thing. Really enjoyed your videos and the ones you made about the Omen 15 (review and screen video) is basically what made me pick the Omen 15.

Graaaaaargh so hard to choose! I live in a warm country and would love to experience 100% sRGB multimedia but a bigger battery needs less charging and I can't stand a keyboard without a numpad. I'd choose the TUF A15 very, very begrudgingly. Will wait on the Legion 5(P) to see if I'm willing to sacrifice Freesync for a faster, nicer screen.

I'm amazed by HP/OMEN for their massive improvement over last year's model. If anything, I'll take a hit on my wallet as long as the quality is superior. For ASUS TUF though, their standard A15 model (R5-4600H + 1650ti + 144Hz), looks good on paper. But if we're talking about the upper-end Ryzen model (4800H + 2060), OMEN takes my heart.

Buyers beware The Tuf comes with a realtek wifi network card. I don't recommend keeping it, I'm trying to get it changed because it's driven me mad with inconsistent speeds and random disconnecting

Doge The Dog since I’m also looking into the A15, I looked up your problem and found this “this was what worked for me "Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters, select Wifi adapter, then Power Management tab, clear the check box to "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save energy." Then on the Advanced tab disable any energy-saving options." Let me know if this works

Bought the Omen and love it, but just bought an A15 because it was $150 cheaper. Haven’t got it yet, but I can’t imagine that the omen will be worth the price difference. If you’re considering the Omen though, can confirm, it’s great and you won’t regret it.

Good comparison. Unfortunately here in Australia, both models are very difficult to get. Lead times for HP Omen 15 AMD is 4-6 weeks depending upon SKU . Asus TUF A15 never seen in shops, even online difficult to get unless you want to pay for top config. :-/

I got a Asus a15 ryzen 7 4800h with 1660ti been pretty good to me so far had it a month one thing did notice before buying on KZbin some reviews said it run hot for me I didn't get that experience at all I'm a gamer like graphics temps went up near 66 Celsius but generally kept below that depending on the game never reached close 100 Celsius that was reported by some reviews

Hello thanks again for your great video Have you any recommendation or tested HP omen 15 with (Ryzen 4800H + RTX 2060) in Germany is now available for 1266€ but some one had this comment: Pro: Strong processor, strong graphics card Cons: The fan is much too loud (especially while the battery is charging); so not usable This device appears to have a fundamental design flaw. My guess: If the battery is charged with the supplied cable, the battery heats up quickly thanks to the rapid charging technology. This heat seems to have an immediate effect on the processor (probably in the immediate vicinity), which is why the fans turn up with turbine volume within a very short time, which is why the laptop is no longer pleasant to use. is it any issue? should i be worry about that? The cost of Tuf15 Ryzen7 1660ti is same as the cost of Omen15 ryzen5 1660ti. Screen is more or less the same and the thermals might be a bit better in Omen. Tuf 15 seems to be the better purchase

Get the ryzen 7 4800h omen one with rest of the config as basic, the 8 core of ryzen will be worth it for editing as editing is an processor heavy task and not gpu heavy.

DAL, On your other vid review of the Omen, how did you get the screen to go black for your bleed test? I mostly use Mac, but purchased the Omen & with screen brightness set to 0% it's still about 20-25% bright. I have searched & searched but can't find how to go to true 0%

If you look for a good gaming experience, you definitely need a better card, definitely 2060, the difference between it and 1650ti is huge. And you don’t need powerful cpu. I5 or 4600h will get everything out of current AAA titles there is to get. Games are generally not cpu demanding. You need I7/ i9 or 4800h only if you work with 3D models or do some video editing. Otherwise you just gonna pay for power you not gonna use. So if you wanna save up, look for I5, 4600h configurations with gtx1660ti/rtx 2060. Careful about choosing ASUS tuf, it’s infamous for its thermal problems

Love my omen 16 with an 11800h and 3070 but Damm does the battery life suck, even with power saver always on and cpu capped at 50% I still only get a little less than two hours watching KZbin videos

@@farithrosh Lenovo has improved the thermals in the last couple of years, but only incrementally. Hp this years has really set a new benchmark for thermal design. Which ever you get I think you'll be happy with. But personally it's down to what you want out of your laptop Omen 15: best thermals Legion: best aesthetic Helios: best performance
