Research note: The Intel models do have Thunderbolt 3, which should include charging over USB-C. I haven't personally tested it, but would love to hear if any of you have been able to test that feature.

I have the hp omen 15 ek0xxx and it doesn't support USB-C charging and if you want the fan to be quiet you can go into bios and there is a slide to turn it off so it can be a bit quiet.

Honest review. Keep being this honest and you'll be at 100k in no time. You are the only KZbinr who genuinely drove the point home about the BS that is the non-charging Type C port, especially in 2021. Then, the fact to purchase a HP power charging brick costs $100+ dollars; heck you might as well purchase a more expensive notebook that HAS the charging Type C port. Let us know what you end up getting and do a pros/cons video as you have a gift for insights that most of us care about other KZbinrs seem to pass on by. Ravi Peiris M.D.

Only issue i had was the cooling at first. The paste that they put on the cpu and gpu was garbage. It wasnt overheating but idling at 51-56c and under load 90+ is a little much. I repasted both with mx4 and its now idling at 39c and under load doesnt reach passed 75c. (Cpu or gpu). This laptop in my opinion is made for gaming and im happy with mine

Hey I doubt you'll see this but I'm really struggling trying to find a replacement fan for my Omen 15. It is the same exact model as yours but when I look up replacement fans they are all different models than mine. I have no clue what I'm doing and just want to get it fixed, is there anyway you know what part the fans are in this specific model? I would appreciate the help a ton.

Got the higher spec model 15-EN0023DX for 995+tax around Black Friday 2020. No biggie about not being able to charge thru usb-c. I love the smart slim charger, enough for me to got a spare one from HP but you're right for me it took me 2 weeks researching w/c darn charger to get as a spare as HP doesn't say which one it is!!! Among your other complaints about this laptop, DO NOT GET A GAMING LAPTOP IF YOU'RE NOT "REALLY" A GAMER. NUFF SAID! GET SOMETHING ELSE NON-GAMING LAPTOP, BOI!

To be fair, it's marketed as a gaming laptop and most gamers won't care too much about things like fan noise and color gamut. The real weak link in this particular model is the 8GB 1Rx16 ram kit. It definitely needs upgraded.

Hello, I liked your review. Did you say that the batter barely lasted for 7-8hrs or that it didn't even make it through a 7-8hrs basic workload. Does the battery last 4hrs only?

Thanks! With normal/light use it would last around 6 hours. The fans would come on quite a bit. When I was gaming or editing video I only got about 2 hours of battery.

Hi i have a hp omen 15 r7 gtx1660ti and when I play games without connecting the charger it lags I get only about 30 instead of 120+ when plugged in I disable battery boost and I set the power options to high do you know a fix and did you have the same problem

I had a similar experience on the battery drain. Same story on performance lag there too. Seemed like it limited the processing by about 20% dropping down to about 3.2Ghz. But that’s an unscientific estimate. Unfortunately, I don’t have it anymore or I would run a test for you.

If your trying to play games without the charger it might be switching to the ryzen igpu instead of the 1660ti, and it runs on lower power plan

hello, no gaming, no editing video, no autocad.. i will use web browsing, youtube.. and two financial program that needs H series power and multiple intel core power. .. i concern about omen 2020 fan noise.. my programs do not need so much CPU power like gaming. but in daily use omen 2020 has fan noise? thank you.

Good question - yes, it would regularly run the fans even if I was just doing email in Chrome. The fan noise isn’t awful - it’s just louder than my Dell XPS 15. If I were you I’d check the XPS series based on the usage you’re describing. Doesn’t sound like you need a dedicated GPU.

@@MichaelJLong yes xps is a good choice. i need min 2 gb 128 bit GPU. XPS is ok for that. but now xps is out of stock in my country and its more expensive than omen. But if fans are working just on the web, this is not a good choice for me. thank you for your reply. i really want to buy xps 17 9700, more cooler than xps 15

That's really good for 1000$ In india you get ryzen 5 4600h, 1660ti, non RGB keyboard, 45ntsc 250nits for 1025$

Wow! Seems like the prices would be lower since they are manufactured closer there. But I’m not sure how all that works.
