To anyone still upgrading these, a tip for prying the bottom panel without a tool: slightly push the corner of a plastic card into the rear exhaust grill and lever the back of the panel up, it should snap off easily, giving you plenty of space to slide the card under the panel and pop the other sides. I've left a couple of scratches on the bottom and the side of my laptop trying to pry it from the front without a proper tool before figuring this out, don't repeat my mistake.

If your taking upgrading so far, please remove the factory cooling paste and reapply it yourself. What are v ram cooling pads
@jerryw16082 жыл бұрын
@@Tumsaddict you most likely know your computer has normal RAM, feeding your Computing Processing Unit (CPU) with data. vRAM is the same thing, only then to feed your Graphical Processor Unit (GPU) with data, the ‘v’ in vRAM stands for video. vRAM can get hot running GPU intensive applications, that’s why there are cooling pads on top of them connecting them with your heat sink to provide some cooling.

Great video, very insightful! I have a question for fellow OMEN 15 users. When I close the screen to put my laptop into sleep mode, it seems to enter sleep at first, but after 5-10 minutes, the fans start running at high speed, and the laptop gets really hot until the battery completely drains. I have to force shutdown by holding the power button. The only workaround I’ve found is to manually put it to sleep by holding the power button for 2 seconds. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution? Would really appreciate any tips! By the way, I’ve been using OMEN 15 for nearly 4 years now, really great laptop, apart from the above issue there’s none to complain about. Works great 👍

I played a game (Back 4 Blood) which the laptop runs flawlessly, but the power brick was coming in at 160+ degrees F after about an hour. That was so hot it wasn’t safe to leave on the floor. I contacted HP and they sent out a replacement charger, which did exactly the same thing. At this point I’m thinking I’ll have to return the computer, since it’s not safe to use at its full capacity. None of the reviews I saw mentioned this as an issue, so I am very surprised that it hasn’t come up. Seriously, this brick gets hot.

Hi, I bought the HP Omen 15 couple of weeks ago. It has a 500 GB SSD installed and has another m.2 slot free. I have partitioned that drive into similar sized disks ~(160 gigs) C, D and E... I was thinking of additional storage to the laptop but I'm confused about how I should do it. I have two questions regarding it: 1) Today I read that it isn't advisable to partition SSDs and that Windows C drive should be kept in a separate SSD drive for optimal performance. Is there any truth in that? Should I delete the partitions I created ? 2) If I am going to add storage, should I add a 256 GB just for the C drive (this is in relation to what I said in Q1) or should I wait and get a 500 GB few months later ?(if there's no truth in partitioning leading to issues) Before I got this laptop, I had the same desktop for almost 10 years. In that one, I had Windows installed on a 320 GB HDD with no separate partitions and I added 2TBs of HDD storage for media and other stuff few years later. I know the more storage, the better it is. But I'm very very confused. This device cost a good sum of money and I want to do what's best for it. If I get It would be of great help if anyone could please advise me on how I should do it. Thanks, Ab

Is it worth it in Feb 2021? It's for around $1720 in India. Should I get it or it's better to wait for next Gen? Also It was launched last year eveb now we only get 10 20 piece, availability is so bad. What do you recommend?

Seems expensive but I don't know how much stuff normally is in that region. Next gen might take a while to come there too, but it may affect the price, hard to predict given next gen HP laptops with Ryzen 5000 have no ETA.

You mentioned everything but the graphics card can be changed, does that mean the ryzen 7 amd processor chip could be swapped out for a upgraded gen of Ryzen 7/Ryzen 9?

Great video. Are you having same issues with graphics cards drivers? Last time HP released one was July 2020 on their gaming series... If I use one from Nvidia or Amd I get only 2 hours battery life since the dedicated GPU does not get suspended. Not sure what's the solution here. Being stuck on unoptimized drivers or having crap battery performance?

What do you think about lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3? Company says that it only supports 16 gigs of ram at max but some people say that it supports 32 gb as well.

Hi Jerrod. I'm new to your site and I'm loving it. My HP OMEN 15 needs a new fan. How do I know which fan to use and how to install It?

Hi , thanks for the tutorial. Only a simple question : Can I Upgrade my new HP Victus 16 (Intel 11.800H /8GB RAM DDR4-3200 /3060GTX 6GB) with a couple of Corsair 16GB DDR4-2666 RAM Modules (Total 32GB) from my old DELL Alienware 15 R3? I really don't want to invest in more RAM, but I really need those 32 Gigs...
