Hello people, I have a Hewlett-Packard hp pro 3400 series driver model wddm 1.2 I am trying to connect multi monitors to it. The new Benq pd2700u monitor says I need dp 1.4 to connect multi monitors. Can someone let me know what I need to do and is this possible Thank you

@@jackj8478 If your pc is not reading from the other ports to the other screen, it may be that your other port is faulty. An alternative is to pickup a graphics card that suits your needs an the ports then use that for multi-video outlets. Your monitor says it needs a dp 1.4 to connect multiple monitors. A dp is a display port ( thats the name of cable) Specifically a model that shows 1.4 ratio. So a gpu would be needed or an adapter like hdmi to dp 1.4 adapter, or a vga to dp 1.4 adapter. A graphics card costs more than the adapters, but offer different types of ports in the long run when you upgrade. It is what ever you prefer. Regardless og the route you take you'll need one or the other, Since the hp pro 3400 does not have a dp 1.4 socket integrated on it. to summarize: Option one: display port (dp) 1.4 adapter to Vga, or display port (dp) 1.4 to hdmi adapter Option 2: A graphics card that supports needed ports such as a graphics card with a display port socket (you will need to get a display port cable that's double sided, this can be found online as a display port (dp) 1.4 cable.)

I am trying for dvi to monitor (dp 1.4). I am now realising I specifically need a dvi from computer to the dp 1.4 monitor. I seem to only see the other way around dp from computer to dvi on the monitor. Could I also consider dvi to dp 1.4 adapter then get a dp to dp cable. I also read most cables are not backward compatible. I am new to connecting multiple monitors and which cables I need. Tip: just put an old 480w Enermax Gold PSU I had lying around (still a beast) in one of these to power a GTX1060-- it doesn't even have a 24 but 20-pin connector (no issue) and I needed a molex-to-PCIE converter for the GPU but it's awesome, quiet and stable as a rock. You never know what old parts you can still use for these kinda upgrades.

I just upgraded to Asus GTX 670, Corsair HX520W and added 8gb to the 4gb = 12GB RAM (need tot find a pair of 2x8 bit for now fine). Added a 4x USB 3.0 mini pci-e adapter in the rear and an additional HDD. Oh and a strip of green LED's. Works like a charm!

@@daonlyshaker Yes it's possible and everything works great i use win10 pro 64bits i stress tested the system and i run MemTest86 just to make sure everything works fine.I did upgrade to the latest bios (Jan 12, 2015) but i have done so before i was even thinking of upgrading also I'm planning to upgrade to i7 3770 when i get the chance.( i do gameplays on gtx 750 and 1650super )

There is not another caddy/bay in the system so if you were to add one it would have to be an external hard drive. However, theoretically you could buy another hard drive for internal storage but it would be laying inside the original case with no caddy. Personally I would advise against a hard drive because of its mechanically moving parts, and would suggest an SSD where it is not on the the caddy and the hard drive mounted to the caddy. If you are not comfortable with it laying in the bottom of the case, why not buy a new case? The motherboard is a mATX motherboard. So simply search for an mATX case that has available bays in it. the other factor is that in order to get the second hard drive to work you will need a new power supply with more SATA power cable adapters on it because the OEM PSU does not have more than one. So, I recommend A new mATX case and a new psu to make it work the easiest and safest.

yes you should be able to fit the card in and you also have the option to change the case. You will need an mATX case.

It depends what graphics card you want to install. The stock Power Supply Unit in this model is 300 watt. If a graphics card gives you information on the "recommend" wattage, it is advised you get a PSU with the recommended wattage.

Корпус у меня почти в точь точь,только видимо следующая ревизия,спереди 2 USB 3.0. Был i3-2100 (2 ядра 4 потока с графикой),поставил xeon e1225v2 (4 ядра 4 потока с графикой).Видеокарта была gt630 на 4 гб gddr3,теперь gtx1060 6 гб gddr 5.Оперативную думал по частотам поднять взял на 1600 две по 4 гб,а тут оказалось ограничение шины в 1300 вот же дерьмо.Вообщем оставил старые разнобойные 8 гб на 1333. По ценам,процессор удалось по месту за 650 забрать,видеокарта аналог с майнинга за 1500 с авито.Вообщем не считая оперативной,2150 рублей вышло.

Great Video. I bought a "ASUS GeForce GTX 750 Ti (2048 MB) (GTX750TI-OC-2GD5)" and tried it with the original 300w supply but it did not work and resold it (not sure if it needed power but reviews said not). My Bios is over version 8. I am willing to get another power supply and try again but would any of these cards i seen on ebay work or anything i need to be carefull on please? Hi, issue could be with the video card i recommend buying brand new video card gtx 950 and will work fine with hp 300w power supply yes video card is mini version and for gtx 770 you have to buy at least 500w power supply brand name.

My interpretation of the HP documentation is that they built this system with a max of 8 GB of RAM, but technically it should support 16 GB (2x 8 GB sticks.)

@@carbonN Thanks, but too late since I found out that the HP 3500 runs BIOS LEGACY, which most of the cards arent compatible of I bought the GTX 1050ti before knowing it, so the only option is to buy a decent pc that runs the UEFI BIOS. Today in running the GTX 1050ti with 16gb ram, and with a few fans, the temps are actually decent.
