this guy is real fixer...inspirational...i watch some other guy and it was too clinical although the other guy did a good fix .with restart button...but not much proper hard electronics stuff and explaining how he is thinking like this man. im totally interested in all electronics now.

It's so painful watching this guy fix laptops that I spent days on troubleshooting but just didn't know how or what to fix. I failed at fixing about 6 of these over the last 7 or 8 years and they were all having the same problem. You truly are a TC Technician! I should have known right away from the length of your videos. I did a google search for 5388 ic. A PDF of "MAX5388" is the first one on the list. I think it is your chip information.

There are quite a few switchode chips for memory supply use, i would imagine that one was just a copy of one of the typical types. Hopefully the chip was a cheap chip chap lol :-D

The screen is working but only barely visible with a flash light. I have replaced the screen, no change. I have replaced the vga cord from mb to display, no change. Do you have any videos of a Xbox power brick repair? I got one and as soon as it plugs on it is on orange standby and when you hit power it goes to solid red. I know it’s the power supply brick cause we tried another one and it worked. It’s like it’s stuck in protective mode . Thank you so much if you can help

If you type a partial part number into google and then the case style it is more likely to find the part e.g. "5388 qfn32" finds the G5388K11U straight away..

I think you have a problem on 3.3v on the data cable of lcd..i encountered that kind of problem once..and i find out that 3.3v is missing..the only shows white screen.but first try to reheat the graphics ic before anything else.
