I have really enjoyed my Eddyline Sky 10 and mostly have been on lakes. This was great for me to watch and see some of the skills you shared. Thanks so much! As a 72 year old woman, I still want to go down the rivers.

Thanks Ethan for showing us these lessons, of course you could do all that with many of the other Eddyline models. But it’s amazing to see how good the Sky 10 is for this maneuvering. Maybe I could order one in Teal, I don’t have a kayak in that color yet. Considering how well behaved the Eddylines are in flat water, it’s not surprising to see their capabilities in moving water as well.

I have a sky 10 just like that and love it! I mainly do smaller lakes, but may try one of the rivers too. Thanks for the pointers!

Another bunch of good suggestions I hope to try on the upper Mississippi if the flood waters ever go down

Sometimes I wish I'd picked up used Eddyline four years ago. Seems a very simple kayak.

Great video. I have been looking for a new kayak, and im really interested in thermoform boats. But every youtube video shows them on deep water. There are no videos in my search that show these boats in real low river, class l water. I want to know how these boats do sliding over gravel low water spots, running up on shore, hitting rocks. How do these boats compare in real life, low rivers, and creeks to the poly boats. If i buy one do i have to baby it? This video is the closest i have seen to showing the water conditions i paddle on. Thanks

I don’t baby mine but I also don’t scrape river bottoms every time I paddle. Good video idea. Maybe I should hammer on one in a vid? High centering and getting stuck on sharper rocks would be the most damaging. 32 lb weight is worth it. Also, if you are really in class 1/2 you may want a river kayak designed with more rocker. (Ie Dagger axis). But, you’ll love the performance of a thermo, you can hit stuff and you can easily touch up and repair damage. (Search up eddyline repair) My demo fleets get used pretty ratty hard. Nave had to repair one in 25 years. If I did, it is easy to fill scratches and gouges. Keep guards are something I dot use but some out there do.

@HappyPaddlin a durability test video would be good for these boats. All the videos show people carrying them to deep water and gently setting them on a pristine lake. I want to see them loaded on shore and slid in. Because when I'm camping I'm not going to walk 4ft out into a moving stream to load my boat. I'm going to load it on shore and then slide it in. Can I do that with these boats. There are no videos showing anything like that. Things like sliding over rocks is a couple inches of water. I don't want to have to get out everytime I'm not sure I'm going to float over a gravel bar. I'm not talking about mis-use videos But more like practical use on rivers that run around 2ft deep. I found a good deal on a new Hurricane Santee 126 and I really want it. The thermoform boats are soo pretty. It would primarily be my deep water boat. But I'd like to use it to camp on the lower rivers. I also have my old vapor 10 for major rock drags and I will probably add a Liquidlogic Saluda 11 to replace my aging vapor. Anyway, I'm really enjoying your videos. Thank you for them and your advice.

@Ericas-Adventure I can shoot that but 25 years of hard demo boats is my best testimonial. Never had any of my fleet break. I pile them in my box trailer on top of each other. I drop them from my hip to sidewalk to make the point. There are vids of me throwing one on pavement out there. I have an idea to film something like this that will prove the point that I know. I’ve been around these 25 years and know what they can take. Gotta figure out how to show that best in a vid. Hurricanes are not as stout as an Eddyline imo.

@HappyPaddlin I went to buy the Hurricane and found that it had a rub mark through the first layer of plastic on the keel. So I got a great deal on a gently used saluda 12 in yellow. The exact boat I originally wanted. Now that I have my camper, boat and the hurricane is out of the picture. I want an eddyline. Only now instead of a Sandpiper I can haul gear and camp with, and which is apparently hard to get from dealers close to Louisville Ky. I'm looking for a new Skylark. Something more sporty and fitted. Those seem more available here. I can order one in Indianapolis if I tell them by mid September. The liquidlogic Saluda 12 will be a good workhorse for me, but I still want a thermoform boat and from what I can tell eddyline is the one to have.

Great 10 footer. But, I get around a lot of rocks and gravel. I'd probably cry if I hurt the hull.

They are pretty tough and easy to fill gouges and repair.

Hello love the video. I'm 6ft 160 lb do you think Im too big for the sky 10? Can you tell me how tall you are ? Thank you.
@HappyPaddlin4 ай бұрын
I’m 6’ 168. You’ll be perfect in a sky 10!
@hunterricks29683 ай бұрын
Would I be too tall at 6’4 in this boat? Are the pegs set at the longest length for you?
@HappyPaddlin3 ай бұрын
I think not ideal for a lot of reasons. You may fit w feel jammed into bulkhead (past footbraces for sure) but then your weight is likely not ideal. Equinox or Skylark better choice.

where did you get the thigh pads from?
@HappyPaddlinАй бұрын
Those are standard in the Eddyline sky 10. You can order extras from them.
@marcmarc718Ай бұрын
Those look like the thigh pads for the sea kayak models. Sky 10 no longer have thigh pads. I just bought mine a month ago
@HappyPaddlinАй бұрын
There should be pads under the deck. Email support@eddyline.com and send them a pic of the underside of your deck.
