This same song used to be on KZbin until the original disappeared along with the account that it used to be on. Luckily I downloaded it a long time ago because this is possibly the best remix and possibly the cleanest and high quality remix of the South Island theme. Hope the original owner of it doesn't mind I reuploaded it, which is Arnon Elal.

haha, sorry for the late reply. It really was a luck of the draw. Videos come and go whenever for various reasons. I just happened to had archived this in time before the original disappeared. Original uploader was cool with me having had me reupload because I believe he deleted it it for personal reasons and no longer had the original song file.

That's the problem with these now-obscure 80's and 90's animated films; they have good music, but there's no OST whatsoever. Searching for this song was like searching for the "princess theme" from Felix the Cat. This is a pretty good recreation by that Arnon guy, though. Probably the closest thing we'll get to an "official" release. Thanks a lot for uploading it!

When I was a kid I go a preowned sonic 3 and knuckles collection for PC from a charity store and loved it. So much that with what little pocket money I had I bought sonic CD and 3d blast (the pc version had the dreamcast version with creepy eggman laugh). Because of the last two having a deep eggman laugh and watching sonic SatAm I always saw eggman as this creepy guy; but this ova appeared in charity shops as well on video casettes, the first half I saw in 2 store, one store twice and the last one years later for an expansive price. Nobody believed there was a sonic movie, they called me crazy. This taught me a few things. 1. kids can be stupid, claiming if they don't know it, it doesn't exist. 2. be true to yourself, don't let other make you doubt yourself and 3. eggman can be scary, but he isn't really.

This movie has been out for nearly a decade and a half and nobody has tried recreating the original other than trying to cutnpaste the pieces from the film, which has been done on KZbin countless times. But from watching the movie again, it's clear that that Land of the Sky is more towards Sky Sanctuary, with some key elements from one of the stages from Sonic Unleashed, Abadat, the Jungle Joyrife stage. To better see this possible, each island in multiple sections, each with a bit of mountains, lakes, and even ruins of an apocolyptic '80-90s era (Cameo of Sonic's home, South Island). There could be a portion where sonic would speed thru the city of the President of the Sky.

The remixer worked with what he could with not-so-high-quality 90's DVD ripped songs. He tried incorporating other sections of the songs from the film, but couldn't due to noise being in the song.
