That is a serious amount of work. Great skills by the young man.

Agreed. Im a decent backyard mechanic but I wouldnt want to tackle this job alone. The kid did a good job IMO

Well, that confirms I won't be doing this is my driveway. :)

I'm not a mechanic, but I do appreciate the skills and may apply the lift kit to my own '22 Ridgeline.

Man what a difference, looks like a must-have mod. Makes it really look like a nice little truck. Clearly takes SOME skill to install but looks doable over a weekend (or just write a check to a local shop for the install, can't be THAT expensive).

Are you guys expecting any premature wear on the CV joints due to the increased angle on drive shaft?
@map7463 Жыл бұрын
I installed the Jsport version of the lift. Jsport said the change in angle on CV joint was minimal and wouldn't cause a problem. Some Honda dealers install the Jsport lift. After 30k miles I've had no issues.

Holy crap! No wonder my local shop charges $900 in labor for this install.

If it’s brand new would that void the warranty? Just asking that does not look like a new truck.

Love your approach. As they say, if it doesn't work use a bigger hammer.

Well any thoughts of lifting my 19 just went out the window, nice job, looks great, but I don’t believe these trucks are meant to be lifted
@lancelotlink3907 Жыл бұрын
I lifted my Ram 1500 4x4 and which was a nightmare to do and the truck never felt as good on the road as the factory height felt. Unless it has a solid front axle like on a Jeep Wrangler or some 3/4 and 1 ton pickups all independent front suspension trucks aren't really meant to be lifted. It also changes lots of engineered angles that cause premature wear.

Did this affect the front end alignment? And does it steer differently?

What size tires did you end up going with on this truck after the lift and was or is there any rubbing?

Did you use the OEM sway bar links for this? Also, was there any issues with the CV axle angles?
@map7463 Жыл бұрын
I'm assuming they likely did use different sway bar links. I installed the Jsport lift and it did come with new sway bar links. The change in CV axle angles was not that much. I have 30k miles on the Jsport lift so far with no issues.

Not exactly a step-by-step guide, eh? Thanks anyway, I've seen enough to know that I'm not going to attempt this myself, although I would like to lift/level my Ridgeline.

1.5 inch? Is that even noticeable? I feel like you can just pump some more air into the tires and get 1.5 inch lol.

Now you changed the angle of the CV shaft and put more strain on the bearing mechanical stupidity
