I have a 22 Ridgeline I bought used over the summer. I work at Honda so naturally I chose one as our next vehicle. I love it! It’s so nice! Honestly I was torn between a RAM and the Ridgeline. But honestly the Ridgeline fits my needs just fine. I love the RAMs but honestly would have been overkill. And for what you pay for a brand new fully loaded Ridgeline, for the same money you get a much lower trim on the RAM. As far as BOF trucks that compete directly with the Ridgeline… interior comfort and storage space are best in class on the Ridgeline. I find it funny how the Ridgeline has always had so many haters, but Ford comes out with the smaller Maverick which is unibody and the whole world goes nuts over it and Ford sells tons of them probably to Ridgeline haters who didn’t buy a full size BOF either and bought a Maverick…

Proud Ridgeline owner here. Any of you AWD Honda influencers ever think of developing and extreme lift kit/ off roading setup? Like maybe Baja truck style like but not so extreme? I think you should all get together and collaborate. John DZ, HRG, NO LO designs, the NART guy, and Camping Randy of course. I’m taking coil overs, longer control arms, longer half shafts, maybe an off road exhaust with better clearance. Longer brake hoses, etc. tricky part would be moving the top strut mount outwards and still have a good steering setup. Oh yeah, longer tie rods… sway bars… OK as I think about it posting this comment it would be quite an undertaking. And it would be super expensive and probably not sell very well. But wouldn’t it be cool? It could be like the extreme HRG mascot to show what can be done to attract buyers to your other products that are more affordable and less insane. Maybe a collaboration would make it easier to achieve

My Milwaukee impact hesitates too, the couple I've used do the same. My coworkers DeWalt and Mac impacts did it too

I do concrete restoration so I’m pretty sure they didn’t put the primer down correctly or the temperature when they put down the primer wasn’t done correctly and if you don’t put down the primer depending on what product you use that’s probably what happened. However, you could also have an issue with Water seepage, depending on what the moisture level is in the concrete. So if you have a lot of moisture underneath your concrete it could 100% be your concern so if you followed their instructions to the T, it’s probably a moisture issue but if it’s not a moisture issue, it’s definitely the concrete company

The concrete was poured in 1996 when the building was constructed. would the painting company be able to test for moisture? Seems like they should have accounted for the fact that the concrete was older.

Why not put 35 inch tires in it? Can you put aftermarket shocks/springs on it too?

It's not my truck. We make the lift kits and this is a demonstration video of how to install it on a customer's vehicle. I was told the customer plans on installing bigger tires once the OEM ones wear out. The wheel wells are not big enough to do 35s. 31-32 is about it, even then you may have to modify the fender liners to get them on. You can install aftermarket shocks and springs but it may effect ride quality

Even with this lift there a bump on the firewall ace body structure that limits tire size to 265/65/18 without cutting.

*me wondering who intentionally got a ridgeline in the first place and now wants to mod it instead of getting a big4 pickup instead

It's all about what you need. Personally I drive a lifted 2023 V8 F150 on 35s. It is a beast! but its super inconvenient to park and gets terrible mileage. For someone who doesn't need such a bulky truck, the Ridgeline gets it done and to be honest is very nice to drive!

Why bother? That's a pilot with a bed... that isn't a truck, and lifting it is a waste of money... the lift is only raising the body, yet all other components are being lowered: driveshaft, , exhaust, gas tank, subframe, etc. It does nothing for higher clearance! What a GIMMICK. You can't really off-road that, as it has been shown before. Honda's all-wheel drive system overheats easily. Real trucks have real 4WD, with high and low transfer cases, locking diffs, and real suspensions (dual wishbone, leaf/multi-point, or solid axles), not this car-like suspension. Maybe now that Honda will buy Nissan, they can learn how to make a real truck. Use the body-on-frame from the Frontier or Titan and the real four-wheel drive, not the gimmicks of this SUT (yep, not a truck, a Sport Utility Truck) = glorified SUV. 😆

Incorrect. The Ridgeline gains 2 inches additional clearance under the center of the vehicle with this lift kit and no other changes. Adding larger tires after the lift will gain you another inch or so. When lifting a conventional pickup more than a couple inches, the front differential doesn't get lifted, nor does the rear axle pumpkin. You have to do what is called a "diff drop" to save the A arms, ball joints and axles. We wheel Ridgelines and Pilots all the time and have not had a problem with the all wheel drive system. Maybe you wheel your Ridgeline harder than we do?

@@hrg_tv My 3rd-gen Chevy Colorado Trail Boss, a true truck, can be lifted up to 4 inches with minimal modifications. No need for extensive work like dropping the exhaust or fuel tank. Larger lifts may require more involved modifications. In contrast, lifting the Honda Ridgeline involves a complex and arguably unnecessary subframe drop, essentially mimicking a body lift, known for its limited practical gains. This approach severely restricts tire size options, compromising both off-road capability and overall aesthetics. Furthermore, reports from reputable sources like TFL highlight overheating issues with the Ridgeline's AWD system, raising concerns about its reliability and suitability for demanding conditions.

@@jmcastaneda1974The rear differential on your Chevy Colorado has low clearance even with a lift. Plus you have to engage into 4x4 in a Chevy while a Ridgeline is awd and will out crawl a Chevy any time of the year. Over heating was resolved soon after problem was found. Chevy Colorados are notorious for tranny problems and then some without problems being addressed by GM.

@@jmcastaneda1974 I’ve heard of the overheating concerns. I’ve also seen videos of owners who off-road a lot and get that message from time to time and they show a video of draining the rear differential and it’s clear as brand new fluid. And they never haven issues with the rear differential. My guess is it’s a safety thing Honda came up with so some idiot doesn’t sit there completely stuck and spinning the tires at full throttle in sand made until they burn up the clutches

Is the ride quality any difference? What kind of mpg are you getting after the lift?
@hrg_tv
@hrg_tv 11 күн бұрын
The ride quality is unchanged, unlike kits with stiffer springs. The mileage will drop drastically if you fail to get an alignment done. Otherwise it's down to aerodynamics at highway speed. It ends up being a negligible difference. Driving habits make a much bigger impact. By the way this is a customer vehicle, I don't own this car.
