AHSCT RUSSIA [hsct-russia.com/]
It's a complex treatment program against Autoimmune Diseases such as:
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP)
- Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS)
- Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorders (NMOSD)
- Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
- Nonspecific Ulcerative Colitis (UC)
- Stiff-person Syndrome (SPS)
- Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) Scleroderma
- Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)
- Psoriatic Arthritis (PA)
- Myasthenia Gravis (MG)
- Sjögren's Syndrome (SjS)
- Crohn's Disease
The essence of the method lies in the elimination of a defective immune system with its subsequent reset.
Our unique method allows to completely eliminate groups of autoimmune cells and affects the mechanics of their appearance.
This approach may stop the progression of the disease and prevent further decrease quality of life.
In total, patient has to stay in the department for about 30-40 days to undergo a whole cycle of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
We use non-myeloablative protocol based on Cyclophosphamide 200 mg/kg b.w. and Rituximab.
The effectiveness of HSCT depends on MS variant, MS duration, and disability level, rate of progression, age.
The rate of MS stabilization and improvement for RRMS - 85-90%, for PPMS/SPMS - 70-80%.
The rate of MS stabilization (long-term remission) during follow-up period for RRMS is 90-95%.
We observed life-threatening side effects in less then 1% of patients, and have transplantation-related mortalities less then 0.5%
Our accumulated experience is over 17 years of follow-up applying stem cell transplantation to the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
In total, more than 3000 patients (half of them are from abroad) underwent this therapy with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in our Department.
"The National Medical Surgical Center named after N.I. Pirogov."
National Scientific Facility belongs to Federal Strategic Objects and located on the closed area on the edge of Moscow City. Fully autonomous medical complex consists of eighteen specialized departments supervised by own maintenance infrastructure - it's like a small town in a big city, that provides high-quality medical care based on the use of modern high-tech methods of diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention.
An unique opportunity to solve most health problems in one institution, using, above all, a comprehensive approach to the treatment of diseases and the well-established interaction of highly qualified specialists by almost all the main directions of medical science.
The accommodation standards and quality of medical care in the Department are at least equal to those of leading American and Western European medical centers.
Aseptic boxes - separate chambers equipped with special air and water purification systems designed for bone marrow transplantation in a wide range of diseases (lymphomas, myeloma, leukemias, lymphogranulomatosis, etc.), treatment of patients with severe immune system disorders, which reduce the risk of infectious contamination patient with microorganisms.
The water and air purification systems - ensure a constant supply of sterile air and water and are an integral part of aseptic boxes
Cytapheresis systems - high-technology devices for collecting stem hematopoietic cells, red blood cells and other blood elements necessary for bone marrow and stem cell transplantation in a wide range of diseases.
The team of the clinic, taking care of the patients' health every day, sincerely believes that transplantation of peripheral hematopoietic stem cells is the way to your recovery.
Complete our questionnaire, describing your previous treatment and current functional status, to define whether HSCT is a meaningful and safe treatment option for you.
This online form must be accompanied by the report of last MRI (Please attach only report, no MRI images are required)

Honestly, It is now irresponsible to see a myriad of people, experiencing efficacy with HSCT, but the procedure continues to be denied in the US, literally for at least One Decade. Meanwhile, people such as Sandra Blair, simply spend a week or so in Russia, they come back, they begin to return to near normal function, dance on Dancing With The Stars, while the rest of us here in The States, prepare for Wheelchairs and Hospital Beds. Question: Is this truly the 1st World Country you thought it once was... ?? Getting ready to gather the cash I need to have the stem cell procedure in Mexico, and that's that! 😊

I'm 29 years old and still fully able to walk around all day long without any assistance, despite this, I've been having many symptoms of MS and most likely PPMS, I am just waiting on my MRI test results. Is there any data anywhere about how effective HSCT is for a younger person with PPMS who has not yet suffered any major disability?
@AHSCT-RUSSIA
@AHSCT-RUSSIA 5 ай бұрын
The rate of MS stabilization and improvement for RRMS - 85-95%, for PPMS/SPMS - 65-75%. Early transplantation - is most effective. We suggest, that the best candidates for transplantation are relatively young patients with active inflammatory lesions of relatively short duration and rapidly progressive disease, but still low disability scores, resistant to conventional therapy. Cumulative incidence of disease progression was quite low both for RRMS and PrMS. After you would receive your MRI report (no images required - only report), proceed to complete questionnaire, describing you previous treatment and current functional status, in order to define whether HSCT is a meaningful and safe treatment option individually for you hsct-russia.com/application-for-treatment

turned me off at 1:08 - MS does not 'inevitably bring the patient into a wheelchair' I know lots of people who have MS who do not use wheelchairs. I don't believe this will happen to me either. I can walk relatively well with minimal assistance - I am on an effective DMT. I don't believe there will be much progression. I have a friend who has been diagnosed 30 years. She rarely uses walking aids. My moth is diagnosed 30 years. She uses a walker most of the time now but this has only been in the last few years.

This phrase should not be taken out of context. It is not independent, but it continues the idea of the main theses of the film. And in this case, it will be correct to discuss the meaning of the film as a whole. However, as we have noticed, this issue has been raised repeatedly, so we will clarify our logic. EDSS is used to assess the course of MS in a patient. This index reflects the degree of disability of the patient. The progression (fast or slow) of MS is characterized by an aggravation of the degree of disability, the value of which reflects the EDSS. Therefore, the beginning of the period when the patient will not be able to do without a wheelchair depends on the rate of MS progression, on the age of the patient, and other comorbidities. The MS insidiousness lies in the fact that the patient does not die from MS, but from the consequences caused by the degree of his disability. And there's no doubt, there are patients who successfully fight MS and do not have to resort to a wheelchair. These are those patients for whom the issue of choice of the treatment type has already been resolved and they do not feel the need to change the method. In our film, we talk about the one of the existing methods, which is intended to stop the progression of MS in those cases, where therapy used is not effective enough.

Everyone's experience is different, your comment is all anecdotal, and not that useful. If DMT meds works for you then great, for me it was terrible. I know that being wheelchair bound is a VERY real possibility so in 2018 I had HSCT in Russia with Doctor F. My last MRI shows that I have not any new or active lesions, it looks like HSCT halted the progression of MS, at this time DMT meds don't halt the progression of MS.

@@ivonna.tinkle I'm so glad that this worked for you. DMT's do stop the progression, not necessarily permanently but many for a long time. I know people who've done DMT;s who've not had progression for more than 5 years - that's significant. For me, so far, just one year but the drug that I'm on has only been available for four years -there are certainly people who've had no progression for that long.

@@AHSCT-RUSSIA thanks for the explanation. You should change your language though. It's pretty hard to take the phrase MS inevitably brings the patient into a wheelchair out of context. That's pretty clear. It's also ableist to say 'resort to a wheelchair' - if you need a wheelchair, use one, they are great tools that make people's lives better. I just got a walk and wow! the difference in my fatigue! I will only be using it under certain circumstances but under those circumstances it will make my life so much better!
