HT Holden V8 Swap, Engine Bay Paint

In this video we paint the Engine Bay of the HT Holden in preparation for the V8 Swap. I have never painted before so follow my journey trying to do a full V8 Swap, drum to disk brake upgrade, swap the transmission, drive shaft, diff and do a paint of the engine, engine bay and full under body paint. Thanks mate, you have to have a go hey. I did get offers for help and a spray booth etc but wanted to just have a crack using what i had in the shed. It should come together well in the end.

came up all right for your first paint job would of got a smoother finish if you had sanded the primer i did mine in 2 pack gloss easier to keep clean

Yep I was in two minds to let it dry and then sand before final coat though I have so little time, I just went for it. The front panel will be getting sanded and then I will paint it in a few weeks. It should turn out pretty good I hope.

Well done Mal, on your virgin job. Wish I had of talk to you first. I would have got you to wet sand in 400 & then a quick 600 before painting. Next time do full sweeps (end to end) of each panel starting at top to bottom, following your wet-edge. But that's not bad. Now don't scratch it m8 ;-)

Good on ya mate, do yourself a favour and pull that K frame off. I'd say going by that mastic job there trying to hold back water. Speaking from experience with my ht.

Don't be lazybones fix that blemish you have gone to all the trouble of preparation, a bit more effort and it will be a top notch job,believe me you will thank yourself after and also you wont be humiliated by all the knockers every time you lift the bonnet😊

Yep i should. I am doing a small tidy ups that i didnt plan and will do some blemishes after i get rust patched this weekend. Its slowly slowly but should be proud to.pop that bonnet in a few months.
