Since my upgrade date around New Years I've been torn between this, The Note 3, and S5. Saw what the S5 had ta offer ( Samsung pulling of an Apple of Sorts), Note 3 we already knew about ( verry nice and powerful). I'm pleased with the M8 in features, looks, and been dead set on it for a while. Just gotta wait till April or whenever it becomes available:)

This is the first review that even mentioned the headphone quality improvement. I only use external speakers when i don't give a shit about the sound quality coming out of the phone's external audio. Even the best possible external speakers such as these will never be practical over headphones which is why it is kind of frustrating that when people are finally turning their attention to audio quality as a feature, it is in the wrong direction.

Phenomenal phone...replaced my M7 (which was scary because it was great)...and this is astoundingly better. Plus, the smart dot case makes it even better. Love it and highly recommend it!

It looks absolutely amazing! I am glad someone has finally decided to reduce camera megapixels and go for pixel quality too. 3.2 megapixels is enough for most people's photos.

Ultra pixels suck you need at least 8 megapixals for a decent photo. HTC missed out on my $700 2 years in a row. I really love the look and fell of the m7 and m8 but the image quality sucks.

I just cannot get over that camera, it has nice features but the picture quality is not on par with the galaxy and the iphone, checkout other reviews. For many people like me, the camera is the most important feature, it doesnt even take 4K video. I was really looking foward to this phone

So this completely sells me on the Sony Xperia Z2. I love the design of this phone, but the 4 megapixel camera is just something I can't overlook. The Z2 has everything the One M8 has other than build, but it still has a much higher quality build than most Android smart phones and it has a far superior camera. Can't forget about the IP58 certification either.

Wow what a awesome phone! Only one really negative feature in my opinion, the on screen home and back buttons. For the games that don't have Immersive mode it can be really annoying, and even when in Immersive mode I dislike having the extra swipe to go home. Thats a deal breaker for me. S5 might win this battle of flagships, also a black M8 would be beautiful.

Those are not scratches. If you notice, when a device is on display it tends to get smudged. Those "scratches" are not on the camera's glass, but on the grease of the smudges. That is most likely a sapphire crystal on top of the camera.Try smudging your phone. Then "Scratch" it with your fingernail.

Love the design. But lets look at the bottom : space for microphone, then space for logo, then space for screen buttons, this is pretty ugly and make the 5' screen a 4'8 or 4'7 when surfing or watching vids ? Hope next LG G3 will be metal...

Ultra pixel technology..... its a different tech than standard megapixels its for amazing low light photos....also if u want amazing image quality then u want a larger sensor.....bigger the camera sensor the sexier the image

Yes , finally one of the big downsides of this phone was totally removed ! It has mircoSD card slot now , AWESOME !! But what about the battery ? - can i remove the battery if i wish to ? Overall , i see many great improvements , this is nearly the "perfect" smartphone (for me at least) :)

Honestly who else is kind of mad that they have on screen buttons I liked the style we have now on the M7 which sports a back and home button I think that HTC should make their buttons such as the Samsung galaxy buttons one big home button and back and recent apps button I will most likely get the new M8 next eligible upgrade but very disappointed about it. Will never go apple.

Uglier than M7, loos like a beer can. Just look at the bottom speaker + HTC logo + navbar + dock @ 5:40 Capacitive buttons should have been where the logo is and the logo should have gone near the top left corner to center the earpiece and balance the front camera

What's that HTC logo at the bottom? What's the point of on screen buttons if you wanted to keep that? It has made the phone's proportions look ugly. Also the battery! The phone is the same size as Sony z2 but Sony had 3200 battery compared to 2600 on this one. I know megapixels are not everything but 4mp ? Seriously? So far for me... Sony Xperia Z2. But I'll wait for new Moto X before making my decision..

$650 to $700 ...TOO DAMM EXPENSIVE...this is getting out of hand and the Nexus 5 and Moto G are proving that this is madness, an $100 extra for so called "premium materials" and newer tech is understandable but NOT twice to four times the price. For WHAT a $10 to $15 metal case (that's what it actually costs a manufacturer) and less than $50 worth of extra "goodies" like "boomsound" and an extra camera (yes that is actually what it costs) did you know that the 801 processor is only 4% faster than the 800 and Adreno 330 only 5% better than 320 ,you cannot even tell the difference . FORCE them to change by withholding you purchase and the NEXT gen will be MUCH MORE for MUCH LESS MONEY

Jirinoshi Someone already clarified, the problem was the low res monitor. I have 2 monitors and I play on the big full HD one and watch youtube on a 17 inch 1280x1024 one.
