I have a feeling that HTC aren't going to be growing larger anytime soon - they're not the same company that made the M7 and M8, and everything people liked about them (such as the premium metal build quality and front-facing boomsound speakers) are all a distant memory now. I just feel pretty sad for them, as they're definitely a company that has contributed to the smartphone industry significantly.

I own HTC U11 for half a year now. Im one of those "careless" people, my phone literally landed from 1.5m on hard tiles before I even turned it on for the first time. It's been dropped around 30 times, I dont use any protection. To this day, I dont have a single scratch or defect. This guy is obviously over-doing things, you wouldnt normally have such a force. Dont worry, this phone is stronger than every phone ive owned so far.

because with USB-C they can do things like active noise cancellation and more without needing the cancellation technology needed in the headphones. Also the HTC USB-C headphones in the box can use microphones to map your ear canal to optimize audio for your ears, something a 3.5mm jack can't do as it is only a sound delivery system and can't do advanced features.

I'm curious about the "3.5mm to usb-c" dongle. Usually phone manufacture put the DAC(Digital to Analog Converter) chip inside the phone, but HTC said that they put it inside the dongle. This is the first time that someone have make DAC such a small size! Could you let us know what's inside it?

I have one. Great phone. I just hate the lack of a head phone jack (it messed up my in-car setup. Now I am forced to rely on a Bluetooth convertor rather than the aux.) And good to know that the frame bends and breaks so easily. I had a false sense of confidence coming from my old HTC 10 which survived a hundred falls until it finally died. By the looks of it, however, it looks as if the phone wasn't completely broken on the inside because I could still see it working under the broken LCD. I bet a screen replacement would help bring some life back into this phone, even though it might still look like a broken phone, it would still work just fine

Too bad this phone failed the test as it was one of the very few candidates for me to buy. I doubt I would ever break the screen, but some people have reported cracks without even dropping the phone so I don't want to take any chances. I guess I have to wait and see if I can get a hold of the LG V30, but I'm not too optimistic. We rarely get any nice things in Europe, Finland to be exact. Keep up the good work, love your vids!

Well the htc u11 is a great phone in general besides the headphone port BUT like you said once its falls out of your pocket it's shattered and it doesn't necessarily need to be from a great height only a few cm are enough so did i experience it the first day i had it already the left bottom corner was broken and now the glass is missing

I have the new HTC u11 and I'm a hardcore HTC fan, I'm pretty impressed. the no headphone Jack isn't a problem. the phone comes with amazing headphones plus the lead to give you the Jack option. as well as a hard case with no sides allowing for the edge sense. funny how you didn't mention any of this stuff?!?
