Frankly most Indians don’t see Kohinoor as a diamond. It’s a symbol that the British so arrogantly wears on its head and then asks us forget the past without asking for forgiveness. Indians have adopted the policy of forgive but not forget. But the British govt never apologised or even expressed remorse over its exploits in india. That’s what irritates Indians the most.

Name any significant piece of Indian jewellery from our royalty that can be viewed by Indians in India. There isn’t any because it’s all been sold. I once attended the Al Thani exhibition (Arabs) and significant Indian pieces were in that collection. Colonisation happened (with Indians selling out each other). Thailand and Japan didn’t get colonised because they had unity. move on and thankfully India is.

Best part of this debate was the spontaneous reaction of Emma saying it equally belongs to Pakistan as well .Emma, it makes us wonder if Brits are still not able to come out of " divide and rule" policy which is now " divide , make them fight and let them destroy each other and we supply arms to them " policy . Knowing very well , what is going on between India and Pakistan , such comments are questionable . At least it is now accepted it doesn't belong to Britain .

@@SannaYoung Who ruled Afghanitan before Islam? Hindu kings. In fact, the whole world was ruled by Hindu/Vedic administration before 4000 BCE. But Abrahamic religions say the universe itself was "created" only in 4000 BCE at 8 am in the morning and their non existent transcendent god took just 6 days to do it. 🤣🤣 Carl Sagan (Astrophysicist) “The Hindu/Vedic tradition is the world’s greatest tradition dedicated to the idea that the cosmos itself undergoes an immense number of deaths and rebirths. It is the only tradition in which the time scales correspond no doubt to those of modern scientific cosmology. The cycles run from our ordinary day and night to a day and night of Brahma - 8.64 billion years long. It is longer than the age of the Earth, the Sun, and half the time since the Big Bang.” It also means, 'Big Bang" does not mean "one time" 'creation" of the universe (out of thin air) around 4004 BCE at 8.30 am in the morning by some transcendent god with a magic wand. 😀😀

@@SannaYoung Ancestors of Abrahamic religion followers were so called 'Pagans" (4000 BCE to 700 ACE) and even though they lost touch with correct understanding of Vedic metaphysics and ended up as polytheists (who lacked any understanding of inherent unity of every manifest thing including their multiple “gods”) they did retain some Vedic practices and guess who were the ancestors of so called Pagans? Hindu/Vedic people who ruled the whole world before 4000 BCE. There are 33 types of supreme Vedic deities (cosmic allegories for nature, laws of nature which maintain the cosmic order) NOT 33 “million” or 300 “million” or “gods” 1. 12 Adityas 2. 11 Rudras 3. 8 vasus 4. 2 ashwini TOTAL = 33 types of Vedic deities. All Abrahamic religions have lifted from the concept of 33 vedic deities (from so called paganism outside India)- 33 vedic deities is the reason why Jacob's ladder on which angel Gabriel came down to meet Mohammad/ Moses/ pedophile Mormon founder Joseph Smith etc has 33 steps.. 33 vedic deities is the reason why the Islamic rosary called Misbahah , to keep track of counting of Tasbih has 33 beads, to perform dhikr ( tasbeeh/ tahmeed/ takbeer ).. 33 vedic deities is the reason why in precise Torah, Elohim is written 33 times, genesis' story of creation .. Elohim means Canaanite god adopted by Jews.

@Meghanada Nope. If I build a house in Delhi and mine diamonds in South India with workers being paid to mine for me - the ownership rights belong to me, kid! If Ambani imports Italian marble and puts it in his billion dollar house does it belong to Italy ? Kya logic hain janab ? The true owner of Kohinoor are the Mughals not the Indian Goverment that never existed, neither did Pakistan exist. Workers never own. The boss owns it. Beta - there was no goverment at that time as it is today - there was no democracy - the whole goverment was owned by the Emperor. The kohinoor belonged to the Royal Family not its citizens.

I just searched on internet about Kohinoor and I found out this it was never owned by Mughals it was found between 1083 to 1323 AD The kakatiya kings, king Prataparudra and Queen rudramahadevi had this diamond If the government doesn't gift or sold the property then the government has full right to claim it

Britain, the so-called greatest country on earth not only has Kohinoor but also many more artifacts not just from India but also from Africa, which are kept in museums not only for the world to see these but also to remember that they were the ones who ruled most of the world by unfair means. And they were the ones who came up with a boundary with the help of a man who didn't know history, geography, or anything about the sub-continent, so that, even after independence the west could gain from the disputes by selling weapons to both the countries created by them.

How can you claim that the koh-i-noor diamond represents British colonialism when there has been over 10 rulers who were in possession of the Koh-i-noor diamond. If the Dehli Sultanate is the last known owner of the Koh-i-noor diamond who might not have acquired the diamond through invasion, then give it back to the Persian Iranians. The Kakatiya dynasty of South India, who are believed to have discovered the diamond in the 13th century. The Delhi Sultanate, who acquired the diamond in the 14th century and passed it down through several generations of rulers. The Mughal Empire, who took possession of the diamond in the 16th century and incorporated it into various pieces of royal regalia. The Persian ruler Nadir Shah, who conquered India in the 18th century and took possession of the diamond. The Afghan king Shah Shuja Durrani, who acquired the diamond from Nadir Shah and later lost it to the Sikh ruler Ranjit Singh. The Sikh Empire, who possessed the diamond in the early 19th century until it was seized by the British East India Company following the Anglo-Sikh Wars in 1849. The exact circumstances under which the Koh-i-Noor diamond passed from the Kakatiya dynasty of South India to the Delhi Sultanate are not known with certainty, and there are different versions of the story. One version of the story suggests that the diamond was discovered by the Kakatiya dynasty in the 13th century in the mines of the Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh. It is said that the diamond was originally much larger than the stone that is known as the Koh-i-Noor today, and that it was cut down to its current size over the centuries. According to this version of the story, the diamond was taken by the Delhi Sultanate when the Sultan Alauddin Khalji invaded the Kakatiya kingdom in the early 14th century. Another version of the story suggests that the diamond was given as a gift to the Delhi Sultanate by the Kakatiya ruler Prataparudra II in exchange for military assistance against a rival kingdom. It is also possible that the diamond changed hands several times before it came into the possession of the Delhi Sultanate. The exact details of how the diamond passed from the Kakatiya dynasty to the Delhi Sultanate remain uncertain, and the story is the subject of much debate among historians and scholars. The Mughals acquired the Kohinoor diamond from the Delhi Sultanate when they conquered Delhi and established their rule over northern India in the 16th century. The diamond was among the treasures and regalia that the Mughal emperor Babur captured when he defeated the Delhi Sultan Ibrahim Lodi in the Battle of Panipat in 1526. The Kohinoor diamond was then passed down through several generations of Mughal rulers, who incorporated it into various pieces of royal regalia, including the throne of the Mughal emperor. The diamond remained in the possession of the Mughals for several centuries, until it was seized by the Persian ruler Nadir Shah during his invasion of India in the 18th century. After Nadir Shah's death, the diamond passed through the hands of several rulers and factions in Central and South Asia, including the Afghan king Shah Shuja Durrani and the Sikh Empire, before it was finally taken by the British East India Company following the Anglo-Sikh Wars in 1849.

If according to Narinder Kaur the koh-i-noor diamond represents British colonialism and bloodshed than the British can return Koh-i-noor diamond to Pakistan Sikhs Lahore. Sikh Ruler Rajit Singh overthrew Afghanistan Mughal ruler Shuja Shah Durrani and threatened to kill his son of Durrani didn't and give him Koh-i-noor diamond. According to Narinder Kaur, koh-i-noor diamond represents colonization and bloodshed so Afghanistan should return Kohinoor diamond to Iranians Persians the original owners of Kohinoor diamond. That's right! The Kollur Mine was a major source of diamonds during the 13th century and it was under the rule of the Kakatiya dynasty. There are two versions for how this diamond ended up in the possession of Delhi Sultanate - one that suggests it was taken as spoils from war, and another which implies that it may have been gifted to them by Prataparudra, ruler of Kakatiya empire at the time

Indians may not forgot what the British did but Indians don’t want to be reminded what Indians did to Indians. The recent banning of the BBC documentaries on Gujarat is a clear reminder. The organised state massacres of the Sikhs in 1984 is another reminder. The same Sikh community from whose treasury this diamond was looted from in the 19th century. The Indians are only using this diamond issue as a yard stick against Britain. The Indian state doesn’t give a damn about its communities. In 1947 power was transferred from one set of elites to another that’s all.

That's exactly that British commentator needs to be protected that Punjabi girl doesn't know her Indian history The Kohinoor diamond, with its intricate history and numerous claims of ownership, has been a subject of passionate debate between India and the United Kingdom. While India has long asserted its rightful ownership of the diamond, a closer examination of historical facts reveals a more complex narrative. In this discussion, we will explore the historical trajectory of the Kohinoor, examining the various dynasties and rulers who possessed it over the centuries. Through this exploration, we will shed light on the intricate journey of the Kohinoor and why conclusive ownership claims remain elusive, challenging the notion that it unequivocally belongs to India or Indians. - Kohinoor, a renowned diamond, is believed to have been mined anciently in the Golconda region of India. - Many famous diamonds like Kohinoor originated from prolific Golconda mines. - In the 17th century, Mir Jumla oversaw the Golconda diamond trade as a Mughal minister. - He established a vast network for exporting Golconda diamonds to Europe and Asia. - Shantidas Jhaveri was another famous Golconda diamond trader under the Mughals. - In the 17th century, Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan cut the Kohinoor from 793 to 186 carats. - The earliest mention of the Kohinoor dates back to the 14th century with the Bahmani Sultanate in South India. - It's unclear how the Kohinoor went from early Indian dynasties into Mughal possession in the 16th-17th century. - The Mughals, of Central Asian Perso-Mongol origin, assimilated into Indian culture over time. - The Mughals acquired the Kohinoor in the 16th or 17th century after establishing their rule in India. - In 1739, Persian ruler Nader Shah invaded Delhi, seizing the Kohinoor. - After Nader Shah's death in 1747, the Kohinoor passed through Afghan dynasties. - Nader Shah invaded India from Persia in 1738, staying until 1740, and acquired the Kohinoor after conquering Delhi in 1739. - He plundered the treasury of the Mughal Emperor. - The Kohinoor was acquired by Ranjit Singh of the Sikh Empire after defeating Afghans in the early 19th century. - The Sikh Empire, weakened by instability and facing potential British annexation, held the Kohinoor. - Two versions exist regarding how the Delhi Sultanate acquired the Kohinoor. - One suggests the Kohinoor was acquired as spoils of war, while the other implies it was gifted by Kakatiya dynasty ruler Prataparudra. - The Kakatiya dynasty apparently possessed the Kohinoor in the 14th century. - They apparently took it to Delhi from the Deccan region, but no concrete evidence exists on how the Kakatiyas lost the Kohinoor or its path to the Mughals. - The first recorded mention of the Kohinoor is with the 14th century Bahmani Sultanate. - Stories suggest that earlier Deccan dynasties also possessed the Kohinoor. - The Bahmani Sultanate, based in South India, was ruled by Muslim sultans who likely acquired the Kohinoor in the 14th century as a gift or war spoils. - Following the British victory over the Sikhs, the Kohinoor was surrendered in 1849 by an 11-year-old prince, Dulip Singh. - Dulip Singh was not ruling independently but was under the supervision of adults. - His uncle, Tej Singh, was the Commander-in-Chief running the Sikh government. - The Treaty of Lahore was signed in 1846 between the British East India Company and the Sikhs, ending the First Anglo-Sikh War. - Under the treaty, the Sikhs ceded territories, paid an indemnity, surrendered artillery, and reduced their army size. - The British agreed to restore Sikh possessions seized during the war and promised to respect the Sikh Empire's integrity. - The treaty was seen as a significant British victory over the Sikhs and gradually reduced the Sikh Empire to a protectorate status under British control. - After the treaty, the Kohinoor remained with the Sikhs until their defeat in 1848. - Following the Second Anglo-Sikh War in 1848, the British took the Kohinoor as war spoils. - The British claimed that Dulip Singh later voluntarily gifted the Kohinoor to Queen Victoria, but some argue that an exiled child could not have voluntarily surrendered it. - The Kohinoor was gifted to Queen Victoria by the British after its seizure in 1848. - Accounts suggest that the Kohinoor was ceded to the British in the 1846 treaty, but it only came into British hands after the 1848 conflict. - To improve its brilliance, the British cut the Kohinoor from 186 carats to 105 carats. - The Kohinoor was set in Queen Victoria's crown for her 1937 coronation. - After gaining independence, India sought the return of the Kohinoor, citing its historical ties with Indian rulers. - The British resisted calls to return the Kohinoor and kept it as part of the Crown Jewels. - India actively pursued diplomatic and legal options for the return of the Kohinoor from the UK. - The Kohinoor remains a contested colonial symbol for both the British and Indians. - Its complex history makes resolving the issue legally and ethically difficult. - The ultimate fate of the Kohinoor is uncertain given conflicting claims over its ownership. - The exact origins of the Kohinoor remain unclear, but it is traced to Golconda in India. - The Kohinoor and Darya-i-Noor are believed to have been mined in Golconda. - The diamonds were likely mined by local laborers working in the region, but no records exist on precisely who mined the Kohinoor. - If the Kohinoor represents colonialism, the British could consider returning it to modern Punjab. - Ranjit Singh had earlier acquired the Kohinoor after defeating Afghan rulers. - The Kohinoor is among the most valuable diamonds held by Indian and Afghan rulers. - Its ownership continued to change hands after the Treaty of Lahore. - The weakened Sikh Empire faced instability and the potential for British annexation. - In the past, India was a source of diamonds before the 18th century, but they were not highly valued at the time. - At the time of the 1846 treaty, colored gems like rubies were more prized than diamonds. - Diamonds gained intrinsic value after large deposits were found in Africa in the late 1800s. - African mines made diamonds more abundant and affordable by the late 19th century. - Other major modern diamond sources include Russia, Canada, and Australia. - The Kohinoor has a complex history with various theories about its origins and ownership. - No definitive evidence exists regarding the rightful modern claim to the Kohinoor. - Legal and ethical issues surrounding Kohinoor ownership remain complex. - The ultimate fate of the Kohinoor is uncertain given conflicting perspectives on its history and ownership.

@@Ashtarot77 the infrastructure was in a pretty sorry state by the time the Brits left India anyway, but do you honestly think a bit of railroad is worth more than the billions of dollars in wealth and the millions of lives that were lost? If you’re honestly defending things like the Bengal famine with “what about the telegraph posts?” then you’re ignorant or just a disgusting human being. But since you are so concerned with economic arguments, you should also factor in that India paid for its own infrastructure many times over through its below market rate sales of cotton and foodstuffs to the British empire. But India received no compensation for the fact that per capita income remained roughly the same for the entire period of British rule, that real wages fell or that life expectancy dropped by as much as 20%, all harming their economy. OK then we want back our roads, railways and modern infrastructure that we gave to India. India would not be what it is today if is wasn't for the British Empire.

1. More than 100 million Indians died in the first 40 years of British rule. 2. 29 million Indians died under British induced famines designed by Churchill under his military doctrine. 3. India and China were the richest countries in the world than brits came, slaughtered Indians and took their wealth, robbed India of its resources for 200 years , which made India poor. 4. The total value of wealth looted from India is worth more than $45 trillion dollars. 5. British were worse than nazis because in 200 years, they conducted countless massacres like Jalian walla bhag and Machlipatnam massacre many more. 6. Churchill and British army raided villages in India took away the entire agricultural yield as reserve stock pile. Which led to more than 4 million deaths of bengali people. 7. Our stolen wealth and our artifacts are still in the British museums they won't be returned to us. 8. After all this, they still haven't apologized or paid us our reparations, but they do lecture us on human rights. Almost every day. This is just a tip of the Ice berg.
