I've been listening to metal since the late 80's/early 90's. I've seen over 1000 concerts, from AC/DC to Metallica to Slayer to Tool to Knocked Loose to Slaughter To Prevail. And I have to admit....I'm more excited to see Hanabie with my daughter this September than any other band in recent memory.

Dude for real. My last concert was Slayer/Manson in 2007 and it wasn't until HANABIE came around that I wanted to see a live show again. I feel like a kid again, full of giddiness and nervous energy. They're a breath of fresh air in the metal scene and are amazing when you listen to the music. Matsuri is one of the best guitarists on the planet and Yukina has a vocal skillset only matched by Daisuke from Maximum the Hormone, the band they admired and played the music of when they were in HS. More metalheads need to look to the Japanese scene because there are truly phenomenal acts out there being slept on 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻

Instagram recently threw pictures Yukina posted of the band with the likes of Megadeth and Trivium, and I'm thinking, what's this Hanabie band like then? And hooooly shit, this is tighter than I expected. The dichotomy of upbeat J-pop-like vocals and metalcore screaming, with the rest of the band putting out some SOLID instrumentals, made me realize: I found some new favorite music.

this is the perfect example of why i think stuff like kawaii metal is great. modern metal has kinda totally stagnated, so having groups who are still able to innovate the genre in totally crazy ways like this is breathing new life into metal as a whole. im not saying we need more kawaii metal, im saying we need more metal bands who are willing to play whatever they want as long as its heavy.

And the lyrics are soooooo opposite of metal AND opposite of what someone would growl. That's a really amazing and unique feature of this band. Most bands like this are gonna be somewhat dark, if not ALWAYS dark. Hanabie.....NEVER Dark. (will maybe the dating app song at the end, but still......all G or PG rated material.) Das Konzert war schon ausverkauft, allerdings wurde daraufhin ein größeres Venue gebucht, um mehr Leute einlassen zu können. Wenn man noch Interesse hat: Die Karten kosten knapp 25€, was wirklich ok ist wie ich finde. Ansonsten immer mal schön auch deutsche Kommentare zu lesen, da weiß ich, dass die auch hier drüben ankommen! 😊 Einen schönen Tag wünsche ich noch!
