Hello again! You got it right, Hua is totally against bullfighting, he sees the bull and bullfighter as both warriors or victims. This song is the one took him longest to compose and get the lyrics to express his exact feelings, a month. Through this song, Hua wants to draw attention on the useless waste of lives and destruction of nature by our careless attitude. Powerful lyrics and wonderful composition, not to mention his beautiful operatic pre-recorded voice and that high note at the end of the rap, mind blowing 😊

Nice commentary. You are beginning to understand Hua's philosophy. The more you see his other performances, the more you will discover him as a heartwarming person. Many of his performances he chooses have personal meaning to him, hence you see his real emotions. Though he is not very expressive off stage, his performances really shows his inner thoughts. Bullfighting is mindblowing the first time you listen to it, and then it keeps on growing on you. And the way he changes it up reminds me of Freddie’s Rapsody. Now that fits a lot of his songs 😊 The MV is a must here too.

Epic song. He personifies at different parts of the song the bulls viewpoint the audience, and also the matador. His rapping in this one is mimicking the bull where his hands would depict the horns and he is slightly bent over. To me this is his masterpiece (although I have said that a number of times for a number of song)

Yes, epic! I love how he becomes the bull (rapping, deep voice, hand as horns), then the matador (rock, high voice, arm out like he's holding a cape), then the thoughtful part with a softer tone, the angelic chorus when the bull dies, and the righteous anger of the hard fast rap at the end. He's a brilliant composer and performer!

For his Singer performance of Bullfighting, he used the stage lighting to set the scenes and clarify the message. I didn't need the lyrics to know what he meant. I'm surprised that someone asked for this version. Is it because of copyright? I agree that his rap sounds different from others. For me, it's because he usually raps to rock music. I think he was on a travelling show were he saw bullfighting in Spain. He saw people cheer but from his point of view it was cruel. So he wrote a song about it. I could also be he saw bullfighting at a time he travelled himself, but I was pretty sure I he went to a bullfight in Spain when he was on that show.

He performed this song on Singer 2020 as well. During the pre-stage interview he said, he had watched bullfighting in person and he thinks it's not exciting, but contradiction. This person, this bull, when one facing victory, the other one facing death. It is tragic. Since you are a huge fan for anime, I highly recommend you watch the MV version of this song, it has lots of anime elements. “Call me Contra” and” Contra in the Wild “are 🔥 as is “ Madhouse “ “ I Don’t Care”-more rock style , “ For Forever” is totally out of his norm and in English . There’s another rock song I’m forgetting. Then his trilogy ( the Martian concert) .. he’s quite unique. I like all of his songs . I like the philosophy. His ability to address depression is really something. “Glimmer/Shimmer “ is pretty . “Ordinary Path” Between Hua and Dimash my needs are met . Substance is everything. I think the rap is great bc Hua has something to say thats not vulgar but has substance.

I feel the same, I actually hate most rap. I can appreciate a few rap, but Hua Chenyu makes rap good to listen for me. I don’t know why, but probably also because it sounds differently from most rap. He’s actually one of the only Chinese rappers I have heard that I understand. Because mandarin has many 4 tones and if you also rap fast I don’t understand a shit of it especially because my Chinese isn’t great.

This is his self composed song! And you can see a lot classical music genre as his favourite music is classical and baroque music! Hua also say his all time playlist is classical music! Hua Chen Yu’s rap is so unique isn’t ! Just like you I am not a bit fan of rap but until I met Hua Chen Yu he completely changed my mind! His rap is so epic! Love your reactions and positive vibes from Hua’s vocals. This is one of my favourites where his voice becomes the instruments and his persona becomes the characters, from the bull, the bull-fighter and us as the audience in the arena. I’m so fascinated what he achieves in each of his performances especially taking us into his Chinese culture and background. Recommend for you to check the music video （if you like this song）…… Bull fighting is really just the surface， despite the graphic desription of the scene in the lyrics. Not a big fan of hiphop rap but I like his rap very much too. FYI The operatic part in the middle of the song （pre recored track of his voice）is not Triditional Chinese...

While you are right about music teachers getting more views I must say - honest appreciation of his music and the message he's trying to send is sometimes much nicer to watch than people just throwing technical terms without understanding what his performances are about. You've really, really got to react to the last song he performed on Singer 2020, which he ended up winning. It's called Gotham/Seven Personalities. There's a concert version which is great, but I think the show performance is best. The only one with subs I could find is from the actual episode, though, and this is one that you have to read the lyrics as he's singing to fully appreciate it. So to put it all into perspective. Hua Hua is showing the hypocrisy and cruelty in plain light in this song through 3 perspectives, the bull, humans ( bull fighter + crowd) and God. Why the "mutual respect"? Because the bull fighter bears no enmity to the bull, he / she sees the bull as a friend, and the killing to be "necessary". The crowd sees the match as a duel between man and beast, the bullfighter is in as much danger as the bull as there are cases of bullfighters dying in the arena. So to them, it's fair game. And to the bull, it is fighting for survival, that does not mean it carries hate when it fights, it sees the fight as "necessary". So when the bull and the bullfighter both sees the duel as necessary, there is no hate, just respect. You do what you need to do to kill me, and I will do what I need to do to survive. Next key point to take note of and appreciate is the depth of cultural study Hua Hua did to write the song, all the way to before the last rap portion. In spanish bullfighting, the killing of the bull is like a celebration, and thus " "Mixed with the aftertaste of the feast There are no tears in the pools of blood" and the fact that he included the bull's ear as a prize for the bull fighter, the crowd waving the white cloth, and passing into the Puerta del Principe being the highest pride and honor of a bullfighter . Finally for the rap part, it can be interpreted as Hua Hua's personal narrative or from a third person perspective of the fight ( God's perspective of the fight). He views the fight as man's bloodlust and this sort of "culture" will only bring disaster in the form of karma in the future. In the second verse " Disaster in the future, in every pool of blood here, nerves tingle as anticipated after that electrifying moment, satisfaction can only be brought from the blood boiling within" and all that for the dopamine excretion of watching a bull slayed in the name of "justice" . Hua Hua gave his personal thought in the last verse " being kind is mankind's last pride and hope of victory"
