Hua Chenyu is a real artist. This song is pure art. I've never seen such a outstanding performance like this before. How difficult it is to sing, perform and play the piano at the same time. The most shocking stuff is that he did everything so incredible. His style is extremely innovative and unique. Everybody is absorbed in being attracted by him. His live performance is always magical. I’m American, an Hua (Ha Ha) Chenyu, is my absolute best performancer. He not easily put into any genre because he is great in all of them. He can fuse many genres and rearrange songs with ease. His is now 30 years old, now he is the best I’ve seen in this generation. Covers many others song, but can compose and write song as well. Depend on how he feel! My favorite is “I don’t care” and “ Dear Dad”. One is my theme song (lyrics) and other will guaranteed make you cry. You must follow the lyrics of his songs, because all his songs are meaningful in lyrics. He speaks through his songs, even if he didn’t write it, he will arrange the song with his emotional feelings. Yes, he is in a Prince legend as far as music. He is also starting to react to the industry the same as Prince and other artist like them. AMAZINGLY EXPRESSIVE !!! Is the only words to describe him to me.

Great reaction, guys! Fake Monk is more than a song. It's art. Seeing this performance is like watching a play. He gets so deeply into the character that he has a convincing mental breakdown in front of a live audience. It's very hard, even for trained actors, to reveal such a vulnerable part of themselves. And it's real for him, because he struggled with mental health issues and the audience knows it. That's why they're worried at the end, until he sits up and starts playing again. He crosses the line into insanity and sings about it to help others. They waited to make sure he came back. He is the bravest performer I've ever seen and a true artist. Thanks for reacting to him.

The Chinese Singer Show is a competition between already established singers. You have to be invited to. That is the reason for the fantastic performances of all musicians. Even the live musicians behind the artists are all great on their own. 2018 every participant was allowed to sing two of their own songs, the others has to be covers/rearrangements. In 2018 Hua Chenyu finished at 2. place behind Jessie J. from Great Britain. In 2020 Hua Chenyu participated again. In 2020 they could sing whatever they want. Accept of one song "Us" Hua Chenyu only sang his own songs and won the competition. I don't know whether someone else explained it before, sorry if it is the case. Would love to see more of your reactions to Hua Chenyu. All given recommendations are great you can't do anything wrong. Thank you and greetings from Germany, wish you a lot of fun. :)

Let me tell you. His audition was a pure piano plus his voice without any lyrics. He was just like a psycho crazily playing piano and scream like in this performance. It's his style. The 2 judges there almost kicked him out but one judge, who was also a true composer, understood him and liked his music. So here he is now.

Great reaction this is one of HuaHua’s masterpiece rearrangement. He’s the best actor/singer in my mind. In Singer 2018, singers were only allowed to sing two of their own songs, the remaining performances had to be covers or rearrangements. Please react next to his own songs and music at his 2019 Haikou concert. These videos are less bound to be blocked than the Singer’s ones. Thanks! You would have to be crazy lucky to be able to watch one of his concerts in person because his concert tickets sold out in minutes. Like less than 2 minutes. He himself tried snatching his own tickets online with the general crowd and lose the bet and had to shave his head.

Great reaction. You are right he is original and the covers he performs are Hua style/genre. Go to Hua Chenyu English sub and many of his performances are with subs and few of them it is necessary. As you will see many suggestions are varied which goes to show they are all worth watching. His styles are from one extreme to another. If you have time to go back and see the lyrics it will make his performance even more meaningful. But for the first time it’s hard to concentrate on his lyrics because his performance and vocals are mesmerizing. Though his albums are fantastic, as you already can see it’s more epic watching him live. Btw, nice touch on the pauses to see the comments. Looking forward to more reactions on Hua Hua.

Huahua was trying to express his childhood pain, his scream of desperation through this song. Though he is from a very wealthy family, his parents divorced when he was 2yr old, so his mom left, his dad was always away due to businesses, and he was a young child so lack of love and security that he slept with a toy gun to feel safe, and he ended up with autism and feared to go to school to interact with people. FYI, His name is NOT said like “Watching You” as that makes the H in Hua silent. Try saying “Who” and “Ahh” (who-ah) quickly and that will sound the closest to “Hua”, his surname. The H is not silent. As for his given name, “Chin Yu” is close enough. You guys will get it right eventually, not a bother 🤓 Thanks a million for reacting to Hua Hua (his nickname). You guys are very discerning for calling this performance haunting. Hua Hua’s take on this cover was to emote conflicting desires - for attention, love, adoration but also for anonymity and freedom from certain social obligations or expectations - at a time when he was a teenager and going through these confusion by himself with minimal parental or adult guidance. A tip on how to pronounce "Yu" in standard Mandarin: Say "me" in English, and replace m with y. So you have something that sounds like 'yee' right? Now as you pronounce this, relax your teeth and curl up your lips making a round shape. That's how "Yu" should sound like in Mandarin. The same applies when you see "Ju, Xu, Qu" in Chinese names. Pronouncing "Yu" like "You" is incorrect but common with English speakers because we do it like "Yu" in Yu-catan.

Thaaaank youuuu 🤗. This performance from HuaHua is so amazing. He conveys the feelings of his lonely childhood through this song. Because he grew up by his father which was very busy with work and often away. So the little 4 year old HuaHua could only fall asleep by hugging a toygun. This performance describes the feelings about his struggles to wanted to beloved but cannot accept it at the same time. He hoped by doing this song people put attention to people like that because he is sure that deep in their hearts they need love. He himself luckily received a lot of love later on so he could step out of that. It would be great if you could react to some of his own compositions next because he is also an amazing composer. His every move and every note are deliberate. Hua has said that during a performance, everything including his voice is but a tool to serve the song. He's very very serious about his music and he's very very tough on himself. While Hua's great with music, he's not good at writing lyrics. That's because like he said, he's not good with words. You'd have heard by now he has had a very lonely childhood whereby he's alone all the time with no-one to talk to. But Hua knows what he wants to express in his songs and so will ask the lyricist to write over and over again till the lyrics express exactly what he wants to say. Hua has been invited to be a judge and mentor on The Next seasons 1 to 3. (The 4th is currently on TV but Hua was on a almost-4-months-break after his win on Singers 2020 in April this year. So he didn't take it on.) It's a programme to source out new talents. You'll be impressed by Hua's professionalism. He could pick out raw gems and he's able to pinpoint what's lacking in the rejected participants and clearly stated out what they had to do to improve. All participants were afraid of him because they knew he's the real deal, he can see through them, whether they're true musicians as they claim to be just because they have thousands of followers. Thing is he doesn't scream nor kick up a fuss. He doesn't even raise his voice. While he's a superstar on stage, he's very soft-spoken and shy off stage. And he's willing to listen to all the musicians he works with. And many are more than willing to work with him. When many called him a genius, he said that's not true. He said he's where he is now because he started working very hard much earlier. He's been a co-host on a variety show Ace vs Ace for 2 seasons. He's currently filming the 3rd. On this programme, Hua has impressed many by being able to name songs by just listening to the intros, being able to list the 3 songs mashed up together and identify the song when it's played backwards in higher speed. He's also quite a good actor(skits) and an athlete. He's the champion of the Limbo Rock game!

Maybe you can do his own composition , 7 Personalities with English subs. Yes, he does different personalities during the performance. It is wildly different but the artistry is just amazing. The Singer, formerly, I am Singer is (was) a Chinese reality show for established singers. It was by invitation only (I heard in some interview that the director only made decisions as to whom to invite after hearing them in concert), mostly Chinese singers but occasionally international (e.g., Dimash, Jessi J, KZ Taningan, Misia), a nice mix of older and current artists. The rules were quite complicated but the 500 person audience would vote for the performances they liked the best. Dimash place second in 2017, as did Hua Chenyu in 2018, but he returned and won the championship in 2020. In this last season, due to Covid restrictions, the show had to use an online audience for many episodes. It has been announced that 2020 was the last year. I am not sure why but the production quality of this show, to say nothing of the talent, was always great. It will be missed.
