Hua Hua is al about the crowd. You see this in his concerts, he jokes around with the Martians and it is just a big party. There is always a new song that they sing together... and he speaks to his fans in a genuine and familiar manner. He has on many occasions called their relationship a 'mutual guardianship'. As Gogglebox mentioned, he was given 24 hours to put this performance together - including composing huge parts of the song. So the crowd does not know the song anymore than you guys... It was based on the theme melody for "The Monkey King". It is a fun show, that really puts the professional artist's creativity to the test and simultaneously make room for unknown singers to be noticed. Looking forward to more Hua Hua.

Hua Chenyu, Zhou Shen, Dimash - I love them all! We are really happy to enjoy such abundance of great music and performances, so I wouldn't start comparing them, but what sets Hua apart is his unique creativity and that he composes all the stuff he sings. This song, for instance, they gave him some electronic tune from an intro to a TV series from the 80s, without lyrics and without much melody, at least to my western ears ;) In 24 hours he composed this and I think just the amount of inspiration this guy has is amazing. Thank you for the reaction, always a pleasure to enjoy old and new songs with you guys!

Yes, HuaHua is amazing. 🥰🤩 He recomposed this song in only 24 hours. It is part of the game of this show. The professional singers get a song ( oftentimes silly, funny, awkward songs) then they have 24 hours to rearrange, learn and perform it right away. HuaHua was so good in this show. On Friday his new Mars concert will start. 6 days of concert with over 4 hours performance time each day and a lot of new songs. 🥰 Thank you for reacting to HuaHua again.

I've never heard HuaHua mention Prince, but he has mentioned Muse, LInkin Park, Jay Chou (Chinese rapper) David Bowie and his all-time favorite Leslie Cheung. He's 31 now, but I think he was 27 when this was recorded. We're Martians, AKA ET's. First time HuaHua was on TV, he auditioned for Superboy by performing a song without lyrics. He said he would sing with sort of a Martian language, and he became known as the little brother from Mars. His concerts are still Mars concerts, and we are Martians. It was not meant as a compliment originally, but his fans took the name on as an honor. We are still honored to be Martians. He has always been ahead of his time. When you listen to his most recent compositions like Bullfighting, 7 Personalities, and The God Tree, it just hits you between the eyes.

David Bowie is the very first artist I think of when thinking about Hua Hua! Although, Radiohead, Muse and Freddy M from Queen come to mind too. Hua Chenyu is amazing.

HCY is natural because he's himself. Dimash being Muslim is extremely respectful to elders. He's been taught since the age of 5 and there is immense influence of his grandparents, parents and teachers. He brought his former vocal coach to the concert in Kremlin Palace in Moscow and gave him a chance to sing on this stage. HCY is absolutely opposite. He was not accepted. And his conflict with his vocal coach in the college went so far that he told her that if he would sing like she wants to he will hate music. And this is his strength. He does what and how he wants and that makes him so unique. In two days, there will be the first of his this year's concerts where not only music but even the format of the concert will be unique. We can just hope to be able to attend such event one day.

The way he recomposes the song is just great and unique. And he is getting better and better. Sometimes it's just amazing that he is talented in so many areas, songwriting, composing, singing, performing, etc. I'd like to recommend also hearing more of his own songs. Each year he has different kinds of topics. 2020-21 is more about the world, and this year is more about life.

He stated that when he was young, his influences were Queen, Muse and Michael Jackson for the foreigners... He also was influenced by Chinese rockers and rappers. He went to study rap at Berkeley for 3 months but then decided it didn't fit the Chinese language and did his own blend.

Hua Chenyu is a great performer. This song, in fact, does not have difficult techniques. His strength is getting the audience involved into his song. Even you do not understand the language, you may be able to map it out through his facial expression and body language. Amusement, triumph, defiance, and pumped up feeling. Due to some reasons, he is not in the list of the top five singers in China now. Too bad, he sings mainly Chinese songs only.

Hua is amazing and I love his style but saying Dimash is arrogant is so far from the truth. He is the most humble person I’ve ever seen. Watch some interviews with him. He engages with his audience all the time. Watch some of his fiull concerts. He loves his fans and doesn’t have an arrogant bone in his body. He also has many songs that he doesn’t hit any high notes in at all. Watch samautal from his digital concert or daididau from his digital concert. These are kazak songs that move him very deeply. I have the utmost respect for Dimash as a performer and as a person. You don’t have to disrespect Dimash just to praise and build others up Ty from a very devoted dear from Georgia USA 🇺🇸

But I was born in TX but I love everything about south Korea. The food the music and the people and I love u guys too. Cos of the tonality of Mandarin Chinese, it doesn't work to rap the way it is done in English. So Hua Chenyu adapts it to suit the prosody of the language.
