Well, there is clearly a huge difference when you kill meaningless npc or an actual character, the last scene was spot on. Also his DW8XL role kinda grew on me as Lu Bu's buddy-competitor which was a great touch. Also pretty much first generic officer name I remembered back to DW4 based on how unique it was.

They don't even bother to make the kill historically accurate. Just giving it like the novel to Guan Yu gutting Hua Xiong. Even if Sun Ce or Jian galloped faster in DW7, it wouldn't matter. Cao Cao wanted to observe Guan Yu's techniques.

The whole Dynasty Warriors series is based on the novel. For whatever reason, the novel is much more popular than the historical 3k, so it doesn't surprise me they follow the novels story. If it was historically accurate, Hua Xiong would have been killed by a soldier under Sun Jian, not the man himself, although that would be funny to see his dw9 model getting bodied by a footsoldier.
