Tech Zilla, great video and you have shown me that this phone has the features that I want such as the 16:9 screen, beautiful screen, nice colour, nice looking, great build quality, great camera, awesome battery, 6gb ram, 128gb, stereo speakers, fast and fluent, I don't care about IP 68 or that the screen isn't oled as long as it doesn't strain the eyes and is comfortable. I am a cats whisker close to buying this phone. There is only one important thing left. You answered one of the two questions I had which was about the sound quality with the HD 600 which satisfied me. Only one left and I do understand you would not have got around to it as it is very early on. However when you are ready, I'd like to know if it records sound as well through video recording as the mate 9 does. I have heard concert videos uploaded to youtube with the mate 9 and they sound phenomenol. Better than the V20 and V30. Clearer and bassier. Now I researched and found that the mate 9 has 4 microphones for recording on LG website. But no where does it state about the microphones of the mate 10 which has left me up in the air. The mate 9 didn't have the sound quality through headphones as the mate 10 according to reviews, but has great recordings based on my research. Does the mate 10 record as good as the 9 and I mean can it handle concerts? I've seen some concerts recorded with the V20 which should be similar to the V30 but it would clip on the bass, Very disappointing despite the hype. I dee jay and would like to record clips at the clubs which is why I need a decent sounding recorder. Here's the 9 in concerts. LCD can't be compared with OLED HDR10 screens. FullHD+ resolution is completely enough for 6” screens. So Mate 10 pro showing much better colors even on directly sun light, because of OLED HDR 10 technology. Mate 10 pro having 6GB/128GB memory. In that case we dont need the SD memory card exspansion. USB type C jack is our future, and 3,5 mm audio jack is our past. We have to accept that. Objectively regular Mate 10 is not better according to Mate 10 pro. Everything else is our personal taste!

I have Google plus, twitter, facebook, youtube, snapchat, instagram, 5 email accounts, youtube studio app all syncing in the background. For me the battery life on the Mate 10 kills the battery life on the Mate 9.

+Cristian G. Moraru back photos on the Mate 10 are closer to the real colour the s8 saturates it with colour, filming I would say that the s8 is better because the Mate 10 doesn’t have ois in 4K. Selfies are both pretty good, s8 exaggerates the skin tone but is better in low light, the Mate 10 over exposes in bright light and is not as sharp in low light

Hi Techzilla. I have a mate 9 and getting around 7-8 hours SOT. I know you are a heavy user and didn't like the SOT u got on the mate 9. But seeing that u love the mate 10 for battery would you say there really is a huge difference? Did u get the 10 hours SOT in this video with the same heavy usage? I am seeing many people on xda post 7-8 hours for the mate 10 so just wanted to be sure. The extra 2-4 hours I can get is important to me at work. Thank you.

Well after some weeks mulling things over between a Pixel XL2 (display issues), now bargain priced Essential Phone (not on sale in the UK yet) and the Mate 10 (not to be released in the UK) I saw Tech Zilla's videos on this phone and took the plunge on a champagne gold (actually looks silver) 4/64 gb from Wonda Mobile. It's early days yet (one day since I've had the phone to be precise) and I'm still learning my way around my first Android phone after years on Palm OS's, Windows Phones and a single iPhone. I agree the screen and build is great. I'm not getting as good battery life as Zilla on day 1 but will try and optimise and sure it will improve. It does seem an excellent phone and a bargain at £520 imported. Thanks Tech Zilla for the heads up on it!

+Jon Stern No 'phone will give you decent battery life for the first few days - ostensibly because the battery hasn't had a chance to get "conditioned" (i.e., several full charge cycles), but more importantly because as you're learning about it, you're using it far more (i.e., far more screen-on time) than you normally would. Once you get comfortable with it, you'll notice a considerable increase in effective battery life.

The Chinese ROM allows call recording, don't get the versions with international ROM if you're looking for call recording.

Tech Zilla: I waited a long time for the Mate 10 Pro. I could have lived with the lack of BT5.0 but the problem with Huawei always seems to be the feedback that you from the phone while typing. On the Samsung phones (S8 or Note 8) the vibration feedback while typing is a joy. The huawei is terrible in this regard and a dealbreaker for me. Did you find a solution for this?

Jon Stern you need to use the charger that comes in the box for the fastest charging which works fine with the adapter. I don’t know about the lumia charger as I don’t have it, it should charge but I doubt it will be as fast as the included charger

CJ Williams with the contacts are they all saved as google contacts on your previous device? Sometimes there is a delay with syncing, as for maps I don’t have this issue, is it updated to the most recent version?

The mate 10 pro's screen is actually not made by LG or Samsung. It's made by some other company and apparently is pretty decent, but I still prefer 2k on the mate 10.

I was just saying that I know for sure I can get two days of battery life with my xiaomi mi max but I don't think that's the case with the mate 10 and I have not gotten any software updates I brought here on ebay and was told I have the international version. Hey Tech zilla, I just wanted to ask you if you had any issues with the mate 10 battery, I had the phone for a week today and the main problem is the battery just dies sooo quickly for instance even at full charge and its on standby and I'm not using it at all it shuts down and dies within 45 minutes of non use? Nice review as usual! I always thought that the Mate 10 was a better buy than the Pro version. It was strange choice of specs on the Pro. For me the 10 should have been the Pro, all they had to do was was waterproof it!! That battery life with an IPS screen is very impressive.

Many that came from mate 9 to mate 10 complain about 10s screen. 10 is improved in terms of audio and that 32bit DAC (which one is inside btw) and design, but ex mate 9 owners claim mate 9 was better.

Tech Zilla I don't know what is true, never had any of them. But I've read many complaining for screen and less fluidity. I care for sound on audio output, trying to replace my HTC 10, which proved to be hardto replace, an amazing sounding and all around outstanding phone with unbelievable durability. There is no proper replacement for it Thnx to htcs decision to remove One series and their unbelievable 3.5. LG V30 seems to be the proper replacement in terms of versatility and sound quality on 3.5, but LG software and glass back are holding me of from it. 10 is holding strong still and I will have no problems waiting for a while longer.

Such a good phone that one from what I have seen. Will look at picking one up I think The battery life looks great. Noticed that the Oreo update on my Xperia XZ Premium made a good battery life even better Think the likes of Samsung are going to have to step up their game Both my Note 8 and S8 plus lose 4 or 5% before I leave the house which is a nuisance

Dope review so far. I have had the Mate 9 for 10 months and I absolutely love it. Only Samsung offers more features of all OEMs in the world 🌍. I was wondering if I should upgrade to the Mate 10 or not. Do you think this is a big upgrade for a current Mate 9 user? (Ford GT)

+Andre Rivers I don't think it is a huge upgrade to the mate 10 but lots of small updates that add up more than the sum of the parts. 2k screen, slimmer bezels, better camera's, better battery life, nicer design, better speakers etc.

I've been using for a week. I have 3 issue 1.Overheating with no apps running. 2.4k video doesn't look like 4k, after i compared with my xz premium. Somehow it's sluggish sometimes. Overall very good.

I hate the 16:9 aspect ratio now. Still have my Mate 9 and after using the s8+ I can't go the the Mate 10. I would go pro but they screwed up with not putting the better display in the pro.

It's very strange that many people complain about the note 8 battery then there are many people that says the note 8 gives great battery life. That's really weird to me. As for me I get awesome battery life and I am a very heavy user. I get over 61/2 hou rs of on screen time and 12 to 15 hours stand by time. And tthats with a 3300 Mah battery. The mate 10 should get great battery life because it has a 4000 Mah battery in it.

It depends what you consider great battery life, my HTC u11 Plus, Huawei mate 10, iPhone 8 Plus, HTC u11 eyes, Honor View 10, Razer phone and even my s8 Plus get double the battery life of my note 8. I am an extremely heavy user and 12 hrs standby time with 6 hrs SOT just doesn’t cut it for my daily routine and work load. So too me specifically the battery life on the note 8 is not good compared with many others

Tech Zilla It's great for me. Constant notifications. Playing music and KZbin videos as well as videos on my phone all day plus surfing the net. 6 and a half to almost 7 hours of on screen time is great in my opinion

I own mate 10 for 2 months. I wonder how u can get 2 days battery life, 10 hours sot, where mine could only go 6-7 hours, 24 hours standby under heavy usage. Then again, maybe its because yours is Chinese version and mine is international? Well i bought it from local carrier for a price 1/3 cheaper than those iphonex or note 8, so yeah, no complaints 🙂

I bought mine Mate 10 pro in EU, before 2 months. And my battery last minimum 1,5 day. With heavy usage 26 hrs minimum.

I love my Galaxy Note 8 😊 📱✒ I can charge mine to 100% at night and then when I wake up 10hrs later in the morning it's only on 99% 😊👍 I do like how Huawei phones are made - very well built indeed. Do you get the phones sent to you free or do you buy them? 📱
