Finally got Huawei P9 and got rid of S7. Using its since a couple of days. It feel so premium and smoother than S7. Battery timings are also better whereas camera is superior than S7 for still scenes but not for moving objects due to lack if image stabilization. However, it's really a good buy. Wish they have given fast charger I n the box.

I have the P9 and had the S7 edge until last week (which I sold). The P9 is much nicer to use. It is so smooth and fast and clean. Just download and apply the Android N Emui theme from XDA before switching to Nova launcher for good, apply Marshmallow icon theming from its settings, and it feels like a mini Nexus 6P ! The only thing that has me worried is updates.

Hallo Damir Franc , Zuerst einmal großes Kompliment an deine Reviews über das P9 (ich bin grad in einer ähnlichen Lage wie du dass ich mich schwer entscheiden kann zwischen S7 und P9). Hab ein paar Fragen: Ich höre dauernd von 128 gb Erweiterung fürs P9 über Micro-Sd. Kamal von Techstage meint ja dass man getrost 200gb auch einsetzen kann. Aber bin mir da unsicher, wenn doch alle von 128 gb Erweiterung fürs P9 sprechen. Dass 200 gb vielleicht funktionieren, mag ja sein - aber obs da nicht ab und an zu Fehlern kommt etc ? Also kann man 200gb in das P9 packen, ohne schlechtes Gewissen ? Zweite Frage: Hab von ner Review-Seite gelesen, dass das P9 im Kameramodus sehr viel Strom zieht . Und dass das P9 sehr heiss wird, wenn man ladet UND zb ein 3d-Spiel über längere Zeit spielt. Kannst du das bestätigen ? Drittens : Es gibt widersprüchliche Angaben ob das P9 Gorillaglas 3 oder Gorillaglas 4 verbaut hat. Weisst du dazu mehr ? Hab auch kürzlich gelesen, dass die Glasabdeckung der Doppelkamera sich nen Kratzer eingefangen hatte. Weisst du ob die Glasabdeckung der Kameras Gorillaglas hat - bzw welches ? War heute im Saturn - hatte beide Handys in der Hand. Für mich persönlich fühlt sich das S7 angenehmer in der Hand an (aber es ist nicht so, dass ich mit dem P9 in der Hand nicht leben könnt - ist auch angenehm). Was mich wunderte ist, dass man beim S7 den Weisspunkt des Displays nicht ohne weiteres einstellen kann (offenbar nur über Apps). Videos wie bekannt fand ich mitm S7 smoother. Übers S7 wüßt ich eigentlich noch gern, ob das Update der Shape-Correction (Formkorrektur gegen Verzeichnung der Linse) auch im Raw-Modus erhalten bleibt. Konnte mir dort der Samsung-Arbeiter nicht sagen xD ... Einerlei ich hab dich schon zu genüge aufgehalten. Wollt noch sagen: ich weiß nicht, was manche Leute hier mit deinem Englisch haben. Für mich wirkte dein Englisch sehr fließend, klar und angenehm. Ich hab selten so schnelles Englisch gehört, das nicht hastig klingt. I downloaded a miui theme from xda (called emiui) really easy to install, doesn't require root or anything and just made the phone nicer to use as it gets rid of the huawei icons which I don't really like (mainly for the reason it forces the squircle shape)

You adjust the display mode on the S7 too to change the screen temperature. On adaptive mode I actually find the screen too "cool". I prefer basic for sRGB mode since it's more neutral. If you're used to a bluish tint then try adaptive or cinema mode. According to display tests the S7 does show pure white more accurately though. You're just biased toward cooler temperatures. If you watch your own video you'll notice how much better the screen on the S7 looks

I bought last week P9 Plus and compared at close-up and macro photos with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and S7 Edge made the worst photos of details that i have seen untill now, it was able to capture only a small amount of the image in focus from small distance, even my S2 made better photos at details that S7, the S7 aperture is too big if you want to make details in focus that have a larger depth of field so you have a larger zone of focus that covers all the image or it is close to the edges of the photo. So The P9 + has the aperture F2.2 , that is much better for having a larger deep of field and making photos of details or macro photos then S7 with the aperture F1.7 . Having a big aperture on the phone (small F number), one that you can't change is not always the best for photography, and it has also disadvantages. And i think on the camera part of a review, should take that also into consideration when comparing cameras of different phones. Also the Aperture mode of Huawei P9 and P9+ is a very nice feature that can give you very nice bokeh effects.

I have just been trying the p9 and s7 in a phone shop. I am surprised how no one mentions typing and dictation accuracy. This is important for me as I have fat thumbs! The s7 was almost flawless, and thr autocorrect feature was also more accurate. The p9 kept making errors both when typing and using autocorrect. When I dictated the p9 did pretty poorly compared to thr s7. For me that is one of thr most important features. I also love the Samsung more, just looks and feels better to me, but maybe I've been a bit brainwashed, still don't trust Chinese products durability, although they have improved a lot. I am actually thinking of getting he p7 lite, even though the typing and dictation accuracy sucks, it's so cheap. A friend from China could bring me one for 150£. Still want thr s7 though!

That is 5v 2a output so it's only as fast as the P9's default charger. You need something like the Mate 8's 9v 2a charger. But you can't just buy any 9v 2a charger, because most of the generic 9v 2a chargers out there only supports Qualcomm's quick charge, not Huawei's Fastcharge protocal (FCP). You will need something that supports FCP, and outputs 9v 2a, in order to charge your P9 faster. Note: a charger that supports Huawei FCP will also support Qualcomm's Quickcharge 2.0 (so you can also use it to fast-charge phones with Qualcomm chips), but not all charger that supports Qualcomm's Quickcharge 2.0 will support Huawei FCP. To put it simply, you need something that specifically says it support Huawei/Hisilicon Fast Charge. Any other charger will NOT charge your P9 faster than the stock charger. At this time I'm not aware of any 3rd party charger that supports Huawei's FCP. Your best bet is to get an original Huawei Fast Charge Charger. If you want the S7 to run games smoother just use the built in game tuner app to scale each game down to the same 1080p resolution as the P9. You'll get much better battery life and you'll get none of the frame drops.

I dont find the s7 of premium quality, the home button is badly scratched after 3 months of usage.

+Damir Franc i put my device in an otterbox case and it never felt of my hand, i treat it like a baby but from putting it in my pocket it may get contact with other subjects that happened to scratch my home button,and i was so surprised and when i google it , i found several stories from users complaining from the home button that easily scratched in their s7 , s6 and s7 edge as the button is not made of gorilla glass like the display, it is just plastic.
