Now you guys at I9 need to improve the freehub bodies by making them titanium and not aluminum. My Torch rear hub didn't last a year before needing a new freehub body. I didn't replace it because the price was $90 and that was without bearings. I went to another brand instead.

Or use steel inserts like Syntace and some others do.
@wasupwitdat1mofiki946 жыл бұрын
@@Tullebukk75 Can you post a link? I don't know what you're referring to. Is that the thin strips of metal that you slide in along the splines before installing the cassette? I really didn't care for that fix. I got some CLD hubs from White Industries so it's to late now anyway.

I’m excited to finally get a wheel set with I9 hubs or a complete. I’d be happy with the 1/1 on my gravel bike but I don’t think you offer 142x12 or 100x12 hub sets in that model. My 2 Mtn bikes are being fitted with 27.5 plus wheels this year. One is a fully rigid Seven Sola SS and the other is a Esker Hayduke 1x11 hardtail. So that’s why I want to try 1/1 hubs since I’ll need to get several. Anyway thanks and I’m looking forward to to finally owning some I9 bling.

We made a running change to the axle design for increased durability. This slight design change does not affect the service/maintenance procedures of the wheels.

@greatdimitri10495 жыл бұрын
@Eli Hume I have ridden Onyx, currently on a set of high engagement project 321s. There is NO BENEFIT to these new EVEN HIGHER engagement hubs...I will still kick anyones ass in a race on Shimano Deore hubs on the gnarliest most technical climb. Sure more engagement helps but their is a critical point where more engagement has absolutely NO BENEFIT and these hubs are in that category. Over 72 is a waste and a Gimmick. Smoke and Mirrors...another way for the bicycle industry and coprorate America to steal consumer's money. Certainly not worth a 1c to upgrade. Let me guess you're a sponsored rider or getting paid by these guys?
@greatdimitri10495 жыл бұрын
@Eli Hume plenty of suckers to keep these companies in business. Spending $1000s for no additional value. Goodluck with your I9s...hope those little teeth on the ring gear don't strip out.
@industrynine39315 жыл бұрын
@@greatdimitri1049 Hey man - glad you found a hub that works for you. Onyx and Project 321 both make excellent products as well. While the increased engagement is a nice plus, I hear ya - 90% of riders won't notice a different between 90 POE and 690 POE. However, the true inspiration for Hydra wasn't necessarily the increased engagement, but an improved pawl design that is more durable and increases bearing, freehub and axle life. Hopefully we've done that and riders won't have to service their hubs as often as they did with Torch.
