I think that seeking mentorship also has a lot to do with an individual’s motives, their chemistry with others but also their own interpersonal struggles. Younger people that are inexperienced in life, will choose mentors for reasons that may be a little bit more in the moment of an interest. The older a person becomes, they start to identify personality traits and behaviors in others, which means they can be more selective in whom they choose to go to for advice. When I was first introduced to Tim Ferriss through this podcast, I knew there was a certain trait that was familiar to me. Then I realized it was bipolar/mania. I have an aunt that was diagnosed similarly. There seems to be varying degrees of that diagnosis. Some seem debilitated, and I think it may be because it’s coupled with other diagnoses. While others use that mania as more of a drive, as long as they could find other mentors to help them not go overboard.

I’d love to know where to go to find a mentor. Even one that I’d pay. Ideally one focused on success or careers. Names, websites, platforms, etc.
