Pretty pumped about this unit, I hope to be able to get into geofencing in the near future. I have never tried that before so I look forward to that challenge.

I find your video to be both very explicit, and to the point, I hope you will provide us with more of your videos pertaining to Hubitat, keep them coming.

Thanks so much for taking the time to make this. Getting started documentation and what you should actually do to get started can be so different, this was great to supplement Habitat's guide.

I'm glad you find the guide helpful. I found the documentation and resources really lacking when I decided to set mine up, just trying to help the next guy. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Thanks for the simple explanation, I've had my hub for about 6 months and couldn't figure out how to add devices but this makes it a breeze. thanks

it makes Vera look simple. What a paion to have to build dashboards and micro manage a unit that supposed to be smart

This definitely depends very much on what you prefer, i do like highly customizable hardware, so for me, this is a win. But I do understand others may like something a little more pre done.

I've had a Hubitat for a couple of years in two homes and I love it. That said I don't think adding Ecobee, which I also like and use, is a great intro for a first device. How about a smart bulb or switch for training wheels?

You are one connected dude. Looks pretty spiffy. I rate it a smash.

Seems to me this is pretty straight forward like the Smartthings hub? Ditching that for a Hubitat C7 to support both Zigbee and ZWave devices

Is it possible to add tuya app and its zigbee devices?
@HouseDadLife5 ай бұрын
I've never tried to add the app, I just add the devices and control them remotely on hubitat. 100% reliable so far.

@@HouseDadLife if tuya zigbee devices work well with hubitat, then there's no need for me to buy tuya gateway to run them. I just have to rely on habitat for ease and proper automations. Correct?

Exactly

Everyone moves through the system too fast. This is supposed to be a getting started video but it just glossed over adding devices and how habitat manages it. Why not start from a out of the box state instead of having a fully developed hubitat so you can explain the concepts and engage the confusing parts of the system. Theres a lot of step’s and assumed knowledge packed into the first 5minutes

This is a terrible tutorial for "out-of-the-box beginner's guide", as you do not explain what you are doing or why, just click quickly through many screens adding this or that and something called ecobee? which you don't explain at all. If this was truly a beginner's guide, then beginners would clearly understand what you are doing, why, and how to do it. I am a beginner to Hubitat, but not an idiot. I cannot follow what you are doing or why. Maybe title it an intermediate or advanced guide.

The ONE thing no-one is mentionning about Hubitat is that it does NOT co exist well with other hubs still working and forces you to remove then reinstall almost all your existing things (I just made this discovery with Hubitat in parralel with Smartthings and Hue) and that althought it is easy to setup for one or 2 big brands, its as painfull for the others thant with Home Asistant. It is far from being user friendly, even to create some simple automations like a time interval (From hour a to hour b). I did put it on ice now, because Smarthings is still the easyest, especially when using zwave things. Zigbee things are overrated and dont stay reliable, and wifi things are getting slower and slower by the days.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. With the exception of one glitch, due to the setup of my Zigbee mesh, my setup has been 100% reliable. I didn't find I liked Smart Things as much as Hubitat but, I'm sure like you others may agree. They are both very good.

@@HouseDadLife I did not give up yet, but my first try is not conclusive. I just have to sleep on it for a while.
