If you chop the garlic and add red pepper flakes, a couple whole cloves and star anise, some crushed cardamom pods, and black pepper it makes an even better cold remedy, and an excellent sauce for wings.

@@HouseDadLifeSince you’re still using Hubitat, what are your thoughts about doing a video incorporating Node-RED into Hubitat? Node-RED is arguably the precursor to advanced Flows in Homey Pro. The best way I've found is using that exact steamer basket you showed. It fits easily into the bottom of a medium saucepan, just put water in the pan so it stays under the basket. When it starts to steam put the lid on it and set a timer for 10 minutes for hard cooked. I take them out with a large spoon and immediately put them in a bowl of ice water. They always peel easily. Just today my sister sent me a Dash egg cooker. I tried it with two eggs for hard-cooked. It works well, shuts off on its own. You can make up to six at a time, and soft cooked or hard cooked, and there is an insert to use for making an omelette. But I really prefer the simplicity of the steamer basket.
@HouseDadLife13 күн бұрын
It's good to hear you have a system that works well for you. I don't mind peeling them boiled like you mentioned, but I gotta say I was surprised, you could feel something was different with the ones that were pressure cooked.

I think I might have to agree about what someone else said about the Homey Pro because it just has mass market appeal, and it's just easy to use Whilst I could work with home assistant given I'm a network engineer, I don't want unnecessary complexity. If Homey Pro is fairly simple, then I figure "Hey, why not"
@HouseDadLife14 күн бұрын
Homey Pro probably is the best fit for the masses. It's just really easy to use out of the box, and setting up automations is very visual which I believe will help many. Hubitat does the job, and has more device support for less cost, but the learning curve is steeper. Eventually, I'll probably try Home Assistant, not because I need to, but I think that's the most customizable, but the learning curve tradeoff is big.

To be fair, they are different products for different applications. Great White is primarily a 'mycorrhizal inoculant', while Recharge is a 'microbial inoculant'. Great White is for enhancing root development while Recharge is for soil health. I use Root Magic (similar to Great White) when I plant to get the mycorrhizal association going and then water with Recharge every 2 weeks to keep the bacterial activity in the soil going strong.
