Can you set up your old hub in the opposite end of the house and have two hubs?

If you mean use your old hub independent of your new hub... Yes. If you want to mesh them you have to disable the zigbee and zwave antennas on one of them and use your other device for things like wifi connected devices such as Alexa or Google home

Are the external antennas for the WIFI function or are they for Z-Wave and Zigbee?

I feel completely ripped off... just bouht a C-7 this month, payed a lot of shipping costs, and import taxes. Now there is a better version....
