Like you (and everybody else), I am suffering the server speed issues and many (MANY) bugs in the software. BUT.... I just took a ballon (the one with the rotor) for a night time trip over paris, and managed to land it in front of notre dame, get out, and walk around. There were bugs (a ship down the sien decided to take a trip down one of the roads), but as an experience, it was fantastic. My trip was in VR, and it was spell binding. I imagine a flight over London at night will be equally good. Give it a try (hint, look up to control the ballon, and press the ignition to fire the burner to rise, pull the rope to lower, the rotor is...tricky).

They should rethink their streaming. I prefer to load and save in my cache rather than constantly having server problems and crashes. I'm not a fan of cloud servers anyway.

This is exactly what I predicted in your London in FS 2020 video. You've done well getting into the aim at all. I' m on day 3 and haven't even seen a plane yet. For me, the worst new aim experience since Fly 2 was released.

When editing your controls for the first time it will prompt you to set a name for your control profile, and give you the option to apply that profile to all aircraft, and a second option to set this profle as default.

I waited about 24hrs. from launch to load MSFS 2024 on my Xbox S (standard edition, with game pass). Sim loaded slowly, but smoothly. I haven't flown enough to draw any conclusions, though it is winter where I flew, and seeing the trees without leaves (seasonality) was nice. However, my T-flight Hotas One bindings are not working properly; the thrust and aileron settings are reversed. I guess it will take a while to sort through these sorts of issues. Cheers,

I got into it first thing this morning on XSX, loaded up very quick. I've done a few flights around London, Barton and Blackpool, and have enjoyed what I have seen. The lighting in particular is stunning. What we need from Assobo and quick is the option to download the world updates and other DLC asap. Everything is set to stream at the moment including the Orbx packs. I believe we'll be okay when the online store goes live.

Oddly enough, MSFS2024 works pretty reliably and best on Xbox. I have both PC & Xbox X. As an experiment I've been comparing both. Xbox loads fast and runs great. I only have Game Pass versions though. Looks pretty decent on Xbox too. I have no idea how to measure FPS on Xbox, but looks ok to me.

@@Huddison My Xbox 2024 experience hasn't been to bad ..I started d/l ing the game at 8:02 .. I was in game by 8:10, for a while. Granted, I was setting up my V1F .. but as I tested, I saw graphics lagging bad. Restarting the flights cleared it up. Day 2 .. I only spent a few hrs on it (R/L in the way), fighting the profile set-up (until I found out how CLEAR works, to start with a empty profile) Today (about 48 hrs from launch) .. I spent a few hr's config'ing the V1f .. about 90% done now, got Nav set up finally) ... I took off, flew a flight, about 90 minutes long, just finished ... Ran great, only slow down I noticed,was on ground, at both airports. I figured these companies would get it fixed, in a few days, not weeks .. after 48 hrs, it is definitely much better .. I think it is getting there. Jake

My Xbox S loaded in 12 mins.. I flew after completely setting up my flight Turtle Beach flight yoke, after and hour of that. Everytime I changed aircraft, I would have to go back in settings and reset the yoke again. In flight.. I noticed a lot of tiles, and terrain poping under me. But, flight was smooth. Buildings looked horrible, ocean beach edges were better in 20220. After an hour, I receeived all my 2020 aircraft. But not all of them transferred. I will try my Thrustmaster stick later today. So far...I am not impressed. I still loose aviaonics. I hope it will get better in time!

I finally got in after 10 hours yesterday. Bindings are a pin so far, and I’ve found helicopters completely unflyable this morning. I tried two and couldn’t control either one. I put assists back on and still couldn’t fly. Can’t get rid of ATC and my landing gear binding toggles EFB and I can’t figure out why. Looks ok for me but graphics are downgraded from 2020. I’ll have to try increasing some graphics setting when I recover from my headache 😢. I’m sure it’ll all work out soon. Edit: I restarted and helos are working, and I discovered by accident that you can toggle the POI pins by pushing in the left stick of an Xbox controller. Now if I could just set the drone camera to go up and down I’d be good 😊

I have 100 MBS download speed. My Frame rate never went below 100 and it was very smooth. I have a thermometer on top of my tower and it will be nice in winter, putting out 106 degrees F. i9 CPU temp tops out at 155 F. All 26 cores being active, and using most of the 4070 GPU.

At the moment i think its a bad joke, i flew over Thanet for 2 minutes and just a green,grey,brown mess with manic ant vehicle traffic on invisible roads. I have 500mb connection so thats not it. I went back in 2020 flew my wasp from headcorn and it was beautiful.

On the aeronautical charts, there are Visual References along flight paths to runways. These MUST be rendered perfect. All else can be lesser quality rendered to lower CPU and GPU load, so higher framerate can be achieved.

Ya know Huddison, aside from the bugs and having to rebind a bunch of stuff, I think it looks very flat and 2D. I wasn't getting a feeling of depth. The clouds look like Xplane. I have it loaded but I think I'm going to stay with 2020 for a bit. Also I have to have Track IR and its a no go now for me.

The problem is it doesn't offer to download anything , only to stream (16:42) If you use a plane that is in your community folder, there is no blurriness!! Therefore the solution would be to download the area you fiy the most.

I am flying it on my Xbox Series S and run it hard wired with 300mbps+ download speed and it is running pretty good but not great. I live in the St. Louis, Mo area USA & we have a new Major League soccer stadium built a couple of years ago & it is Not in the scenery. They also talked about getting all the airports that fly gliders in the sim but the one that is near St. Louis (Highland-Winet Airport (H07) show's no gliders or glider activity. Well, that is disappointing for sure, hopefully they will get this smoothed out with updates & patches...etc.

For me the biggest question is: will it run on my actual computer or I must buy a new one? How it perform compared to MSFS2020 on the same coumputer? Possibly not with one equipped with a RTX 4090. At presents my Computer is 7 years old, running on an I7-7700k and a GTX10810 with 32 mb RAM . Good for MSFS2020 but with the 2024 version? This is for many of us the biggest question...

I managed to get in today, including right now but only through VPN to US servers. I'm in the UK and they either fail or it's so messed up to be unplayable. In the menus I've had issues of settings not sticking/saving but also simply not working. However, once textures have loaded and I'm flying it's pretty great on mostly high end settings. It's smooth, the scenery is great and London performed so much better than 2020 which always stuttered.

My biggest laugh was flying in northern italy to get a "Bandwidth too low" on a gigabyte ethernet being fed by a 900 mbps fibre connection - lordy lordy! Especially as they told US we needed lots of Bandwidth on our side!

I hate to ask a question - should I wait or reload FS2024 if it is using 100% CPU but downloading nothing? It's been stuck at 68% for probably 20 minutes. It says "Loading world data..." but not downloading anything. It's been over an hour and I have only managed to download 3 GB of data. But it is not posted anywhere what the actual download file size is.

What sort of bandwidth does your WiFi give you? I have a ropey standard Sky package which only achieves about 10 mbps. I've got into the sim, but I can't even load up a whole aircraft yet, - the sim just shows a map and gives me a 'working' symbol.

Mine looks washed out, colors are muted and everything is oddly pixelated even though I'm in 2k. At night, the instrument's glare overwhelms everything. I was only in for two flights totaling around 20 minutes. Dealing with ATC was wonky but I did like the EFB. I know it'll get better, but my first impression was not good.

I've been spending frustrating HOURS trying to program my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick buttons, switches and top hat to function properly. No joy. It seems that by default most of the stick's 14 possible controls have been assigned to conflict with several other functions? Have you tried msfs2024 on xbox series s yet? I noticed sim.crashes just trying to load free flight. Example, try choosing vision jet & load at KJFK airport. Why did they change menu actions to get around? We learned how fs2020 controls work just to move around menus. Frustrating big time learning curve. Not user friendly Why they replaced great hanger mode to see planes exterior & interiors but fs2024 just loads a 2D inage now? Omg why?

@Huddison Hi,. Could you do me a favor. Spawn in at a big airport like Heathrow or KJFK airports. Are you seeing "Real Commercial Liveries" yet on PC or your Xbox version. I turn on Real Time Traffic and see nameplates with correct traffic BUT not seeing any real life liveries on any planes on my Xbox series s. I wasn't sure if maybe they haven't applied this feature yet or haven't applied or offered it to Xbox versions. I just hope it's a server thing and once things settle down we'll see more stuff.

THE GRAPHIC’S LOOK TOTALLY THE SAME TO ME NO DIFFERENCE !!! Xbox series X version. You can have your MSFS 2024…..I’am happy with and will stick with the 2020 version ! UPDATE : THIS 2024 SIM IS MUCH WORSE THAN THE 2020 MSFS !!! AWFULL !

Buy a pc for better graphics the series x was already on the limit for msfs2020.

If I knew now that it would take forever and a day to download the files I would not have bothered and saved the cash . Its taken overnight to download anything then I got thrown off ....Meaning I have to start again ....NOT GOOD AT ALL MICROSOFT ....
