My dad used to take me down to an industrial district and measure out 60’ and 330’ and we would run my jr all day long. we had cops come watch us and never cared to give us the boot

I have raced bracket cars all of my adult life. Love to see these kids start in jr dragster. Don’t have any grandchildren. Wish that I did. Always wanted to have a family jr dragster team boy or Girl.

Good job dad getting your kid into racing so young like my parents did. I grew up racing asphalt oval track I was 9 years old when I ran my first race ever in a mustang 4 cylinders ministock and that was a very fun and fast class it was a small 1/4 mile bull ring so we only got up to maybe 85 mph max so not to fast where I could get seriously hurt but I started 5th and won my first race ever with only 10 practice laps ever in a racecar of any kind but I grew up around racing my mom raced and they also owned a racetrack in cannada I would drive my mom's racecar around the track slowly just learning how to use a racing clutch and how to shoot fromow to high and high to low for restarts and for when cautions come out and for starting of the race when we go green on how to get on gas and shift it with out spinning tires but I never was allowed to go fast enough until I got my own car when we moved down to Alabama from cannada which is where we owned the track I couldn't legally race in cannada cuse at that time you had to be 14 to drive any type of racecar this was back on 01. But my mini stock was awesome we do would go down the road to the huge hf mile track when they had open practice jgjts and I would run my ministock thier as well to learn that track and get use to the speeds and everything so when I moved up to a faster car and to that track o would be alright and have experience for a smooth transfer period when I started racing asphalt modifieds and pro latemodels when I was 11. But I love how you made him wear a helmet even though it's in the driveway gotta teach them safety from the start and make it second nature to them so they don't get hurt in the car cuse a race car is not a toy yes they are fun but need to be treated as something that can kill you or someone else of used improperly

Thanks brother but in all honesty I owe it to my parents. I'm just passing the torch.

If that motor doesn’t make too much power don’t worry about temperature those lines on the block keep the motor cool you really want to worry about temperature when you go fast

I mean 50-75 hp 2 speed gear box with cvt. 1/8 in 5 second or less. Ah I miss it. I used to have a 110 with 2 speed making 60hp. I'd pull wheelies if I gas to hard on a hot day

I know this is an old comment but you have no idea what you're talking about. Those hoses on the top go to a catch can to relieve crankcase pressure! They are air-cooled so yeah, if your not running air across it they can run really hot especially with 13.1/14.1 compression running on methanol! From the looks of it I'm pretty sure they know everything they need to know without some keyboard mechanic telling them what to do 🤣

You should educate yourself on the safety standards for Jr. Dragsters that race in the NHRA. before you comment on it. a=(vf-vi)/t or Δv/t

"I'd rather do it at the track NOT facing a ROCK!" HAHAHA!!! That is so funny. "Yeah, I'm filming you. You could drop your pants and run around naked and they can't say shit" Again.. That is super funny

Well, it's true! Thankfully our neighbors are all cool. I have 3 drag cars and no one complains. Perks of being the neighborhood mechanic and carpenter lol
