He sure is miles away from the days he played with Miles Davis . He matured extremely well since those days with Miles and is playing better than ever. Love his big thumb Wes Montogomery-inspired licks, which is not so evident in this recording. But again, most of the 1970s Jazz guitar Alumini from Berklee School of Music in Boston (nowadays known as The New England Conservatory of Music) such as Bill Frisell, Al DeMeola, Mick Goodrick, Emily Remler and Berklee music teacher Pat Metheny were heavily influenced by Wes Montgomery. Heck, more recently. the new wonder kid of Jazz guitar Julian Lage taught music at The New England Conservatoty of Music.

Glad to join your comments, mates (first time ever). Literally brought to tears by these two guys I had the honour to meet when they held gigs in my hometown (Arona, Italy) respectively, 1996 (Scofield) and 2003 (Granadier, with Brad Melhdau trio). In my personal opinion, when you play duos it's because you're at the very core of the musical matter. 'Chapeau' to both o'them.

@edwardjons8684
@edwardjons8684 4 жыл бұрын
The OX is a load box and attenuator - allows you to crank a tube amp to overdrive without going earshatteringly loud. A Fender tube amp in this situation would either be way too loud or just sound thin and crappy at this low volume. The OX fixes that problem.
