It is with great sadness that I report that this helicopter N98F went down on June 22, 2022 on the last flight of the day. All six souls on board were lost. The NTSB has the aircraft in Atlanta doing their search to see what was the cause of the accident. Please remember all the families involved.

The yellow box thing on the right, is that an emergency rescue beacon

I'll be honest, I don't know! I'm not in aviation, I was just lucky enough to get to catch a ride with these amazing pilots in this classic aircraft. I remember looking at it while we were up (when I could take my eyes off the scenery outside going by!) and being able to read the print on the side of it at the time. Whatever it said made total sense as to what it was and why it was mounted right there, but almost six months later my mind is a total blank on those specific details! Maybe someone else watching the video will know and help us out! Thanks for watching!!!

@@adventure416 im in the nw of England and would love to fly in a Huey Best looking chopper ever lol I asked because i was watching a documentary on missing persons in Alaska A Congress man i think he was went missing in a small aircraft and was never found Since then all us aircraft carry a beacon It looked like one :) You are a lucky SOB lol
@adventure4162 жыл бұрын
@@somethingelse4878 I agree, the Huey is the best looking chopper ever. I also agree, I am a lucky SOB to have flown in one! :) You are correct, in 1972 Majority Leader Hale Boggs of Louisiana, Representative Nick Begich of Alaska, Russel Brown (Begich's aide), and Don Jonz (pilot) went down in a twin engine Cessna while on a flight from Anchorage to Juneau. Despite an intensive search lasting more than a month, neither the men nor any sign of the aircraft were ever found. After researching this a little bit (I certainly didn't pull it straight out of memory!), I think you are spot on. That had to be an emergency locator beacon in the yellow box on the Huey. You have a good eye for detail! And now I am daydreaming about how wild and remote Alaska truly is, and how I need to go out on yet another ADVENTURE!!!! Thanks again for watching, and for the great question!

I don't speak the language, but Google translate tells me your comment says "Welcome, friend, I am from Myawaddy, Myanmar". If I have the translation correct, then I welcome you too, friend. I hope you enjoy the video, and please say a prayer for the lives lost and impacted by the recent crash of this helicopter.
