Yes, my mistake I was mixing up Dolphin with Aethersx2. I was using Vulkan in my first PS2 video 4 months ago. It’s weird how Aethersx2 works with Vulkan but not OpenGL but Dolphin is the exact opposite.

You can use a usb micro data cable for Xbox one controllers or usb c for newer versions. Retropie does also have Bluetooth support. I don’t know the 8bitdo

Image runs great, only issues ive found after solving my audio issues on my cade is i havent been able to find wifi anywhere in settings, is this something that has to be done through ssh? Aethersx2 must have been created for widescreen because im running the image in a 4:3 aspect via monitor in my arcade. Ive tried accessing the menu and i can highlight menu options via keyboard in aethersx2 but cant select anything other than toggling fullscreen. Ive tried playing ps2 games but its off center and i cant exit from the games

I used the Amazon link to buy the ORICO 512GB drive. SanDisk has gone way down hill I had to return my SanDisk USB drive it would not even book off USB and the plastic case was paper thin. The ORICO looks alot better!!!

Hey lee any idea how long the 512gb image takes to copy using pi imager ? I’m about 50% downloaded and I have just ordered a 512gb sd card. Also the website you suggested to get it from states it fits on a 512gb sd card fine but is it actually going to run very well ? As I get that having it on an nvme drive would run faster.

I didn’t time it but it took a long time to write to a reasonably fast usb stick. Sd card is fine for emulation.

Thanks for the reply. I have installed the image. It loads the splash screen, then starts loading emulation station and the game systems etc, when it gets to the end and loads the UI it crashes to command line. The is an error for a font texture I believe

@@leepspvideo I followed the Linux Segmentation Fault Fix tutorial actually, after the config change the Pi wont boot anymore and i had to reinstall the OS- It wasnt the overclocking though, so i suspect something else changed. Either way, havent had much luck with it so far.

I wanted to add games but even though it shows my ip and ssid clear as day i cant access putty or filezilla with the typical pi and raspberry default sign in..... Other than that the only issue i have yet to resolve is being able to configure my xb controller through aethersx2 settings or arcade stick both manually or automatically even when it lists both so i know it detects them

Everything worked great on small lcd screen but plugged my RPi5 into my 4k tv and emulatonstaion crashes before it boots fully and everything looks glitchy tried setting it to 1080p in raspi-config but that didn’t work any ideas?

I downloaded the 128gb version of this build, and the KDE plasma desktop has an admin password. You can boot into the desktop without the password, but if the screen times out, you’ll be locked out, or if you need to update or download anything in the desktop, you won’t be able to, because it’s password protected.

These 50 PS2 Games just work on Pi 5 without any special configuration or Tweaking. It's the other 1,746 that are the issue. 😏

This is interesting I have no problems at all with controllers when I image an SD card. If I take that same Arcade Punks image and put it on a USB flash drive my controllers do not work, After I map the controllers they also do not save the controller mapping after a reboot. It seems like the issue is that it is running as a live Linux OS and not an internal OS that is installed. I am hoping there is a way to get the USB flash drive to run just like the SD card. I want more options for multi boot and I do not want to take the sd card out over and over if I am switching to another OS.

@@leepspvideo the thing is it boots (I use pineberry HAT and Lexar NM790 1TB ssd), but the emulation station crashes after I configure the usb controller (maybe is from the controller) I will try more with the settings in the config.txt for the pcie and the version to see if something improves. the HAT I've used with a kingston kc100 ssd (or something like that) and it boots and runs perfectly with PiOS. But what I've read on the retropie website they don't have official support for PCIE so... it's still into the wild for now :). I did not try other OS's on the Lexar because it takes half a day to write and verify the image :)). Now I've ordered a SanDisk ultra microSD, like suggested on Arcade Punks... maybe after all I will replace my laptop ssd with the lexar and keep my PI on the sd. It should run fast enough...

I booted the image off of an SSD and it works fine. My PS4 controller maps and works in the main menu. As soon as I open an snes or sega rom the controller stops working. Does anyone know how to resolve this? I am not sure if it is because I booted off a USB SSD. I am going to try writing the same image to an SD card to see what that does. When retro arch loads it shows the PS4 controller (Not detected).

Did you unzip with peazip and write with imager? It may not like your storage device. I have definitely changed nothing in the setup, just configured controller when asked. Do you have a recent eeprom update? Start the Pi with no sd card and it will show the date at the top of the screen.

@@leepspvideo Mine is a 20 inch Dell monitor in my A1UP, DVI to HDMI adapter and HDMI to mini HDMI to the pi. I tried using sudo nano to change and save resolution but it reverts back after reboot. Same thing happened after using sudo raspi-config, I can change the resolution but after reboot it reverts back to 1920x1080

@@leepspvideo I probably should have invested in a full HD monitor but 4:3 aspect was expensive so I went the cheap route and bought a 2003 Dell monitor which for it's time was a very nice display. I believe the pi is having conflict with the DVI to HDMI adapter to establish resolution when it wants a straight HDMI connection from pi to monitor

@@leepspvideo Now once I change resolution in sudo nano to any resolution it boots same with creator image and then stays black for a few moments w/audio then goes to blue screen saying emulation station crashed. This was the first boot I performed after plugging everything up on rpi5, should I use raspbian SD card that came with rpi5 first? I would assume by trying to adjust settings through there that it won't apply to separate SD card supreme funktacy image

@@leepspvideo update: I had to purchase an audio adapter that is USB powered, is plugged into the rpi5, I have my 3.5mm wire plugged into this device. When I unplugged it the image now boots and there aren't any issues other than no sound. I took a recommendation to purchase the device so I could have sound so now I'm stumped.

Was this build meant to be played on an arcade? I can only play GameCube, everything else doesn't respond to joystick or buttons....I set everything to both arcade sticks but GameCube is the only one that works, very odd indeed

Try the Retropie docs. I haven’t used an Arcade setup. Only Xbox controllers

Everything is up and running nicely, aethersx2 is tricky setting controls depending on the game, auto modelista is one that's proven to be a challenge with dragonrise but is more doable with Xbox controller.

​@@leepspvideoDid you notice supermodel is installed? It's not playable but I linked my PC to my cade to examine it's file structure and all of AM3 ROMs are there. I assume if I delete a few of the emulators and ROMs I won't play that may make room for it to be selectable but I'm still learning this build as I go. If you happen to have any insight on how to expedite this process let me know and thank you!

​@@leepspvideoI also learned if anyone is using an HDMI audio extractor to run HDMI0 port with micro HDMI to HDMI in and standard HDMI from HDMI out to monitor in cab. 3.5mm to amp from extractor works great, no distortion and solid sound.

Did you unzip with peazip and write with imager? It may not like your storage device. I have definitely changed nothing in the setup, just configured controller when asked. Do you have a recent eeprom update? Start the Pi with no sd card and it will show the date at the top of the screen.

@@iansellars789 sadly my broadband was down over the weekend so I couldn’t do much firefighting. I did get a little further burning the image to a mSD card in that I got some music and Emulation Station appeared to scan for ROMs but still crashed back to a Linux prompt. I will try again next weekend and will hopefully be able to update a few things

I didn’t do anything other than in the video. Did you unzip with Peazip? Try a different storage device. Possibly a corrupted download

I encountered a similar issue, where the system indicated a crash. However, upon switching to a 1080p TV, the problem resolved itself. Could it be that the system is not compatible with 4k TVs?

@@ad5690 you can update the bootloader with raspberry pi os or my KDE plasma build. Just doing a normal update should be enough. Alternatively in these operating systems type raspi-config in terminal and update the bootloader there.

1) Download the image from the group he mentioned. 2) Write the image to your SD card with raspberrypi imager or equivalent. 3) Insert SD into your Pi and play. You'll have to pair a controller.

OK I answered my own question... sort of... I rebooted; then made my way to raspi-config and changed the password from there.
