I always enjoy your videos speg. Watching you go through your finds is great. I love going to a coin show and coming home and going through the coins I bought. I could stay up half the night looking at it. I urge people if you don't have a hobby get one it makes your life more enjoyable.

I agree with you Morgans are nice but nothing beats a Peace dollar. My favorite by far!!! I started metal detecting about 5 months ago and my goal is to find a Peace dollar even more than finding a gold ring.

Nice vid, thanks for sharing. I'm also a bigger fan of the Peace Dollars than the Morgans. Probably my favorite coin at the moment.

Spegtacular don’t spend any extra on BU’s. They are a special bonus when you find them in the junk bin. I found a Benjamin, a George, and a Roosevelt BU in the junk bin. I think they were at $12 for face. Keep stacking 👍
@Spegtacular6 жыл бұрын
Just about all my coins were at junk prices. Junky coins and BU coins alike were all found in the same place. My only BU coin I purchased (for BU prices) is a Morgan Dollar. At the time I wanted a Morgan in great condition... I satisfied that craving ;)

It is amazing what you can find. Many dealers don't bother to check them. A few months ago I bought a bunch of War nickles and I found an RPM in the group. Happy Hunting! GD

M- Nice ...sounds good in theory, but it wont happen. As a society today we dont even use “money” day to day. Most dont even carry any money anymore. I do, as we have made the decisions not to even own a credit card, but we do use our bank card for fuel etc. the thoughts of having a silver currency coin is just something that really just reminds us of another time past

Great pickups. The later year Peace Dollars are tougher and go for a premium over the common dates. That being said, there is still a lot of room for the entire series to go up. Nothing wrong with buying the tougher dates while the prices are relatively low. Thanks for sharing.

I got a slightly later date today for $16. I'll show you soon in a video I'm uploading now. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment.

Awesome price. 1921 & 1927 onward are worth more than the 1922-1926's. I think any year is worth picking up (if not in cull condition) for $16.00. Great buy. Look forward to watching the video.

is there anyplace else to get silver coins other than going to a store? What about buying bulk coins at face value? Is it still cool to go to a bank or have they caught on and took out the silver coins?
@carolinacoins Жыл бұрын
I still buy halves by the box. Not all banks will order them for you. I get mine through my credit union. The amount of silver coins found has gone down, but not completely. Over the last 12 or so years, I have found over 1000 40% Kennedy halves and about 700 90%'s Kennedy/Franklin/Walking Liberty's and a hand full of older halves. Buying by the box and searching each coin for error's or condition is very time consuming but not expensive. I sometimes buy 10 or more boxes at the time. Each box is $500 but you only really spend the money for the coins you keep. I turn the clads back in for cash. It's not unusual to go through several boxes and get skunked, but once I found 137 90%'s in one box. An obvious silver dump. I'm now retired and have plenty of time to buy and search and doubt I will ever tire of the excitement. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Awesome video brother, I have never bought silver and am trying to learn is a 50 coin roll mercury dimes for 73.08 a good price and avg. circulation does that change the price? And what would be a good price for a roll of mercury? I know barely nothing so any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks brother
@Spegtacular5 жыл бұрын
Mercury dimes and Roosevelts can go for nearly the same amount of money. Sometimes the condition causes an increase in price if they're being sold as being in better condition. Right now expect to pay $12-$13 per dollar on constitutional silver.

I’ve gone to pawn shops, coin shops, and We Buy Gold shops for mine. I’ve purchased a little online as well from both dealers and individuals. All of it has generally been between 11x and 12x face.
@SilverGorilla17765 жыл бұрын
Blake I’ve bought all mine so far (which isn’t very much, just started) from a couple pawn shops. They pay almost nothing for them so they sometimes pass that savings on. I’ve bought silver eagles for $1 over spot. Also depends on which worker you talk to. Talked to one in the afternoon and couldn’t make a deal. Went back in the morning a few days later and another employee gave me the deal I wanted.
