I’ve used the rigs and Drennan ones with great success, I often remove hook lengths for Drennan banded ones for hard pellets or baby corn fishing. Only problem I have with this and many other videos is the need to put large fish in a keep net in a non match fishing sessions.

My first thought was, “you’re gonna need a bigger net” 😆. Fabulous carp and beautiful played 👏

Can't say I've had a problem with the pre-tied hooks. I don't use them all the time but time constraints mean I've picked up a few ready-tied mag store hooklinks and they've never let me down.

Question with fishing such big fish. Why is it that you don't use a bigger landing net
@brianwelbourne98962 жыл бұрын
When match fishing for carp the landing net is between your legs, the small landing net keeps the fish still while unhooking. I personally do not see the need for some of the gigantic nets I see carp fishermen using. A smaller one would be much kinder to the fish when using a cradle etc, Just my thoughts on the subject.

@@brianwelbourne9896 Thanks for the reply Brian I'm only just getting back into fishing and haven't done a match fishing before and tend to just fish club water. Nicely explained and all makes sense 👍

@@heyitsme6083 I forgot to say that in normal CLUB match fishing any carp thought to be 8lbs or over are weighed, recorded and released immediately. Its different in major competitions where all carp go in the keep net but have to be a minimal size especially for that purpose. Join a club, fish a match or two and you will pick up a lot of good tips from other anglers on how to fish different waters and what rigs, baits etc to use. Your catches will be much better, thats why I match fish myself apart from the banter and camaraderie its normally only a fiver in the pot.

@@brianwelbourne9896 Thanks again Brian for the reply. Really appreciate all off the useful information 👍. Sounds like you most certainly know your stuff mate. I will have to give a club match ago at some point. Many thanks for taking the time out to respond to my question. Much respect and many thanks 👍

The pretied rigs aren't perfect for every situation. He changed the rig with pre tied hooks so effectively they are still quality pre tied items.

Great pole but please please stop using generic grating pointless rock guitar music. It doesn’t enhance the product, brand or video.

Refuse to believe you landed more than you hooked, against snags. Even using a 3lb test curve, through action carp rod with 16lb bs line, you lose loads of carp as they are ballistic and unbelievably determined when fishing for them in snaggy swims. Just show the out takes and losses and be honest, as using elastic and pole in snags for proper carp is pathetic really.
