Not gonna lie, if the Master leak is to be believed, I'm not really fond of it. 1st off, the Master has been overdone. We literally can't go one season without the Master popping up. Secondly, why a new actor? Sacha was good and I'd love to have seen him be written by RTD...but if this leak is true, then it's incredibly unlikely that Sacha would ever come back outside of Big Finish.

@@fortdragons6934 We don't know what the Master was doing before PotD, his timeline is very complex. Also he survived the Death Particule, and Smith's Master was also very hard to kill. The Master is often left in a very dire situation at the end of an episode and gets out fine

The only thing Doctor Who has been 'leaking' over the last several years is it's audience. Oh look, yet another tired over used character(s) coming back. (A veteran industry writer/showrunner can't create new ones like Weeping Angels?) Oh, look another RTD chum being hired who's appeared before as another character. Oh look, yet another LGBT or inclusion approved actor/character instead of one that actually connects to EVERYONE as human beings. All of this comes across as pandering as well as lack of originality or self awareness of what viewers really want. Doctor Who (and TV and movies in general) used to be successful and engaging eveyone because it WAS FOR everyone. So, much for their 'diversity' love so much.

Whilst not every fantasy aspect of s14 wasn't explained, which is a strength of stories like 73 Yards, to make blanket statements like that over the whole season just isn't true, Eg. The Goblins and the Bogeyman are given logic explanations "Vocabulary of rope" or sound waves to create the perfect pitch to induce fear.

They just killed Mel in the S1 finale. Would they do that again? Plus, a major point of the new Doc was dropping the emotional baggage. You can't do that if the string of deaths just starts up again. Fans need to get off death.

Gonna be honest if they bring back the Master, I hope he's still played by Sacha Dhawan. Despite giving a great performance in the Chibnall era, I don't think this Master fully reached his potential. And I think bringing back a Master who is so self loathing, and seemingly hates his existance so much that he'd want to become the Doctor, literally go up against an Incarnation of the Doctor who is supposed to be so full of life and love himself, would create a such an interesting dynamic that I don't think we've ever seen between the two characters.

For the most part as as rumours go it seems fine and logical, no outlandish claims like a David Tennant cameo or Ncuti regenerating, though not keen on trying to traumatize the Doctor again, given the goal of 15 was more emotional honesty and positivity, especially since they already undercut the idea of Mel dying last year. Personally I'd rather have Gugu as the Master, not only as it's almost thematic given what happened to Martha's family, but watching her in Loki, she's great as a morally unclear antagonist.

(my general thoughts. Not against tharries or any of these whotubers) I've gotta say before seeing anything, I'm 50/50 on a new master. On one hand, it's cool to see a new take. On the other hand, it feels only a little too soon. But since a year will pass before season 2, my opinion on that will most likely change. I do think dawan maybe needs another season or handful of episodes to really come into his own. He did feel unhinged but lacked a certain uniqueness to his incarnation, not to say he wasn't great cuz I thoroughly enjoyed him. As for companion death, come on. If there is one coming, I do not want it spoiled or leaked. That's just poor etiquette and harms the making of doctor who before It even airs. As for leaks in general, whether false or not, just don't. The Internet is really bad at not leaking something. If it's not a leak, specify what your saying is a pure speculation. If u know what's gonna happen, don't say. Let everyone else experience it and don't ruin it for them

I’ve heard they’ve already done it in a Big Finish or something similar, but: I think it would be super cool if, for a finale episode, another Doctor joins Current Doctor for an adventure. They banter, they flirt, they measure each other’s Sonics… a typical modern Doctor story. But surrounding events don’t go very well, and Current Doctor keeps remarking that things just aren’t adding up. Then at the very end of the episode, our Guest Doctor is revealed to actually be The Master. I dunno, I think it’d be a cliffhanger to rival the best. 🤷‍♂️ Yes, of course it’d be Peter Capaldi.

I am so excited for the return of The Master. There were no Daleks, Cybermen, Santaron or any of the usual villains last season. It will be nice to see a familiar villain return. They undid the character growth from Series 10 in later seasons with The Master going bad again. It would be satisfying to see them fully lean into being an anti-hero now. Finish that story.

If Mrs. Flood is going to mess with time they can kill whoever they want and restore them. But I hope they don’t because the Doctor putting everyone back in their place is exactly how they finished the last season (including appearing to kill Mel). I do think they’ll bring the Master back at some point just because the mainstream viewer will be expecting or. As diehards we don’t really count - it’s the majority who like rather than love the show who’re going to matter.

What are you talking about with "Mel back to Earth" bit? They covered that, unnecessarily, in a throwaway line in the 60th specials. Why would you need more? I'd argue: why did you need that? She's back, it actually works better if you just accept it, the attempt to explain it was clunky dialogue to me. Some things are better left unsaid. As for the predictions, I don't have a problem with any of them. Master being back is too soon, but if they do something interesting again like Missy was, then I'm all for it, I hated the Master written by Chibs.

Remember how it leaked that Gatwa would be waltzing about in his underpants and hit the TARDIS with a giant Mallet and everyone thought it was the fakest ever? I can see Mel dying and the Doctor doing some soul searching but it has me worried though, it sounds like Russell knew he wasn't getting a 3rd season, at least not greenlit for years in the distance so it sounds like season 2 will end in a way that can both act as a years long gap and if needs be for it to return with another new Doctor. As for the Master leaks, I'm not a fan. I think that Sacha should have remained as the Master, we did not get enough time with him, like 5 episodes and 3 stories technically is not enough. I know John Simms had less but it "felt" right his conclusion whereas I think there's still more to give and do with Sacha's Master edit - Oh and it would be very sad imo if Gatwa's doctor never meets the Daleks or Cybermen on TV

The problem with series 2 of the Disney version is that it was shot back to back with the prior series which meant there was no possibility of course correcting the horrifying mistakes of the first. It will be DOA because of tunnel vision.

Between Missy and Dhawan the Master has been different enough to keep the character interesting. In some ways they've had a bigger character arc than the Doctor...zero chance you can be "over" the Master but not the Daleks or Cybermen, who've had waaay more exposure.

About your point with the master, it really doesn’t shock me that they are doing this, they’ve been doing this sort of thing from tenant specials, as soon as the whole sustekh thing happened I realized what was happening with the show- they basically are stuck trying to do world-breaking things with old characters and fantastical logic instead of trying to just start over, get a good foundation of the new world and then introduce old characters.
