I planted music and elephant garlic in Oct. The problem this year is our winter wasn't cold enough to cause the bulbs to clove. Only a handful separated. Its still good to eat, let it cure for a few weeks then peel , slice just like an onion and dehydrate. Powder it. The ones that did clove can be cured and kept for longer.

It's so fun!! We started two years ago but weren't very consistent. It's nice for Adam and I to do together!

Some of my garlic didn't separate but as some dried they seperated and others didn't but they still taste great😊

Iowa Zone 5a. Second year growing garlic, so not the expert, but our harvest of 400 plants was pretty good. Some runts, but few singletons. I guess that's what you guys are complaining about. My guess is that your winter wasn't cold enough for the garlic to form cloves. However, it looked like you had a pretty good harvest. Have you noticed any fewer pests on the plants that were surrounded by garlic?

Yeah, that's what we are thinking too!! Very mild winter. We did notice less pests.

@@eversonroadoursimplelife7958 Thanks for the reply. Our garlic grew on the perimeter this year, and there seemed to be fewer pests, but it's hard to nail down cause and effect. Good luck with next year's crop.

U have to tell uzz....the name.....howyo putt it there....what you putt before and on and on.... Rain or superior watering?? And whats your soil....black...old...and on and on....
