Looks great! The mineral lick however isn't necessary if you give them a good quality diet like my local rescue Burrowed Hearts suggest: We recommend that hamsters are fed on a natural mix. Ones we like are : - Mixerama via ratrations, they do a Syrian one and a couple of dwarf ones, we like this one - Bunny Meadow mixes, there's a dwarf one, Roborovski one and a Syrian one - Erin's Ark, there's a dwarf one and a Syrian one - Bunny Dwarf HamsterDream Expert - Rodipet, there's quite a few ones and they also have 'junior' versions and 'senior' versions - Getzoo's ''zwerghamsterfutter'' (dwarfs) or their ''goldhamsterfutter'' (syrians)

“You are not meant to be captive... you are supposed to be free.” I’m glad you mentioned that. Victoria Raechel mentions during one of her videos that there are some hamsters that will never be happy while captive, no matter how big of an enclosure they are in. As humans, we keep domesticating so many animals for selfish reasons and for the most part, we won’t ever be able to provide for them what they would actually have in nature. Therefore, we need to stop domesticating animals, but for those who already captive, it is our responsibility as GUARDIANS to do our best in providing their needs. I see that’s what you are aiming for. I look forward to the way you enhance this enclosure.

She was stressed out because it's a new place, that's why she was trying to escape. Hamsters are prey animals and changes like this stress them out a lot, so just give her time to adjust. You should also give her deeper bedding, which you should compact so she can dig without the tunnels immediately falling apart. If the bedding is just loose and fluffy it doesn't hold tunnels. It's essential for hamsters to be able to create tunnels where they can feel safe sleeping and keep their food

I upgraded because I dont think the hamster heaven is big enough for a Syrian. Its the bare minimum for them and personally I think trying to do more than the minimum is best for them. Iv noticed HUGE behavioural changes since upgrading her. She was expressing a lot of stress in the hamster heaven (bar biting, monkey baring, manic behaviour) She's very calm and tame now which has been so rewarding. Def aim for bigger👍🏻

Hi sweety..wonderful cage. The fact that your hamster is climbing is still a cause of stress. You can make him feel more comfortable by putting much more bedding in. Syrian hamsters are living underground...and try to give him more enrichment. Ifbit doesnt help you can put tunnels in xxx

I understand your situation that really sucks. But sadly that cage rly isn't suitable for your poor hammy. Id recommend either trying to educate your parents on hamster care or rehoming to someone who is able to provide the right cage. good luck x

I’ve tried to convince for so long. I got this cage when I thought 360 was the minimum. Even more sad that it’s a Syrian. I’ve been trying to convince them to let me get a 55 gallon aquarium but they refuse. I at least give her the right food and 10 inches of bedding and a 9.5 inch wheel and I also let her roam my room sometimes while I’m watching her. Feel free to watch my videos if you wanna see the situation I’m in. And if you have any more advice for me while she is in the 20 gallon let me know. My birthday is the 21st of this month and I hope I’ll get the money to get a new cage. And also I would be devastated to have to give up my poor Sookie. My grandma is helping me look for some type of dresser to turn into a cage. I’ll let you know what happens in the end if you’d like.

@@BlessedWithPets idk where u live but if you have a petco there’s a dollar per gallon sale once a year that’s how I got my 40 gallon for my mice you could also look in thrift stores and try to find a cheap tank or try to collect money to buy them a new tank as soon as possible but if none of that works you need to give ur hamster to someone that can provide them decent care I know it’s hard but your hamster needs it the bare minimum is 450 square inches as you probably know and if your hamster doesn’t have that it can cause lots of stress and possibly health issues

I have the medium sized Living World Eco Habitat. It's good for a hammy but if u have a large,a guinea pig would do just fine living in it.

Guine apigs shouldn't live in tank style cages like this, too much ammonia build up is bad for their respiratory systems. Plus even the large is too small for multiple guinea pigs (which you should have as they should never live alone exept in very specific circumstances.) A large wire and plastic cage, or a hutch style or a c and c style is much better suites for guineapigs.

Amazing cage upgrade! Your hamster is looks very happy, aswell as very adorable. I have 3 female mice, and they live in a 75 gallon tank. I don't know if you have a petco in your country, but a few times a year they do massive sales on tanks. I got my tank for $100, not sure what that is in your money. Beautiful cage.

Ratrations is the best option in the UK I think! They do loads of different mixes for different types of hamsters. Id recommend to check them out. But if your on a budget I'd recommend science selective blocks mixed with a good quality hamster mix, along with fresh veg/fruit couple times a week👍🏻
