What's the best strategy for promoted listings on ebay? Is it worth it to increase sales net? I'm often asked if I use it in my eBay store and if I recommend it. To be honest, I don't feel like using it because my apprehension regarding promoted listings on eBay is mostly based on the fact that users are required to pay in order to make use of this feature. Despite the fact that it does not come at free cost, I've chosen to give it a shot nevertheless 😂

I will now try the recommended promoted options and hope for the best. I learned a lot from this video! I was starting to panic because I had started promoted listings and NOTHING is happening...YET...it's only been a day. But when I am used to selling 5 to 10 items daily and it goes down to zero. Well I guess you could understand. I guess from what you are saying is everything is resetting. I did do End and Sell Similar and promoted at a higher rate on Jewelry. I'll know next time not to end and sell similar. Listening for the Cha Chings to start. Hoping they start talking to each other soon! I love the graphs and you excitement as you explain them. It is helpful!

Hi Sarah! Thanks for answering my questions on your live yesterday! I'm imagining that in order to promote your older inventory you filtered by custom sku and selected the relevant inventory that way? I'm not seeing a way to filter by listing date on the campaign page. Just musing here, but I think for those of us doing end + sell similar we would have to approach promoting older inventory that way because once we end a listing it creates a new listing date even if it has been in our inventory for longer than the new date would show.

Yes you could do that for ACTUAL older inventory. I do have unique skus for COGs starting my skus so I cannot so I just sort by date listed, as I've never done sell similar. HOWEVER... even if it's an "older" listing but new to ebay IE you did sell similar and it has a new listing ID you wouldn't want to promote it as old inventory from a ebay algorithm perspective. You are getting the "new listing boost" if that makes sense..

Hi Sarah, how do isolate items older than a year?? I can do bulk easily but haven’t mastered the dashboard multiple tools. I’d love to do end sales older than a year and sell similar but can’t figure out how to isolate those?. I usually hit listings ending soonest, change some title words and price, and end those to trigger new listing. What’s the clearest way to isolate older inventory?? Yes... to promote as a campaign if you already have promoted listings on you need to turn them off. Wait a few minutes for the system and then you can do a new campaign and new rate.

Can you please walk me through how and where to change the % I am paying. Some how I’ve chosen 9% I don’t remember when or where I chose to put my whole store on promoted listing or how 9% is what I’m being charged.

If you made a campaign you can go to the marketing tab and advertise dashboard to change it. If not then edit in bulk and change the promotion rate

Poshmark does not charge an additional fee to boost listings in their search as sharing is free to do manually

I guess its about who you want to shift the money to. Do you want to give your customers the savings with a markdown sale or coupon. Do you want to pay ebay more with promoted listings. I'm sure what Ebay would prefer that we do.

Right agree!! 100% and when I did this test senerio 18 mo ago the cost saving to the buyer worked just fine. But as more sellers promote my items weren't getting supressed and so even with major sales if they aren't being seen buyer can't buy them even at major discounts.

Not only are those items taking up the space, but they're also collecting the "bad" data along the way, which only bogs down ur metrics - just get em out, right! I think of this as being no different than running a huge 30-40% sale. Even if ur spending 12.5%, you're likely still netting more than u would on a huge sale

I would disagree... I run big sales but if they aren't getting seen it doesn't matter... From a net perspective sure. But promoted listings is being put infront of more people. A sale won't do that... I say that solely because that's what I used to do.. low promoted and HUGE sales.. pass the savings to the buyer. But when switching to promoting higher I saw an increase.

I give eBay a month to sell my items. Then they get pushed onto other platforms. eBay is hovering around 45% of my total sales. If they manage to drop below 30% they won't be worth the hassle any longer.

Unfortunately.. no one will say an exact time. You can send and sell then check google ingonitio to test your items. Ebay did tell me they do not send to google daily. So if you end it could take time to show in google again.
